Lucille King established the Playskool Institute as John Schroeder Lumber Company’s division. King made wooden toys that are made as teaching aids. BY 1935, the company was under Thorncraft, Inc. but after three years, Joseph Lumber Company bought Playskool. Fast-forward to 1968, Hasbro Inc., acquire the company.
