Won't leak when held upside down

I love the fact that these bottles will not leak with liquids in them if you hold them upside down. However, they were a little hard for my daughter to use. She's usually breastfed and I only use them when I supplement her with formula. She could get the formula out but it took 2-3 times longer than the bottles you get in the hospital. She also still seemed hungry after eating just over an ounce. The flow of the nipples seemed to be slower than when she was breastfeeding, so it took her longer to eat. I bought these bottles knowing I can either buy other nipples or poke holes in them if they were hard for her to eat with. Since it took her so long to eat, I took a needle and made additional holes in the nipples. I made slats just outside of the ones that already existed but made sure they went to the outer ring but didn't touch the ones that were already there. I filled the nipple with water and tested the flow. Afterwards, she was able to eat more quickly and it was less work. If you have problems with the bottles, this seems to work. She is only a week old and I don't think she can use the faster flow. Also, if she were to use them everyday I think she would have an easier time eating with them. However, reading other people's reviews were helpful to me in knowing what I may be dealing with, even if it meant alterating the nipples to make them work better.

Great bottle, doesn't leak, light, comfy grip, doesn't spill, measurement won't ever rub off like other bottles, but the nipples are for babies older than 1 month, because its hard to suck on them as the first half of the nipple allows milk to come out when its pressed down and it requires more effort and strenght.
