I purchased this car seat for my 2nd son expected any day now. I gave away my 1st car seat which I loved. This is my first Baby Trend product. The car seat is nice. The size is great and it is not to heavy. It looks a little tricky to adjust steps but the instructions appear to be easy. However I decided to return it for a different color scheme due to the metalic look. It is too much for me and the material has a rough feel to it. I was concerned about putting a sensitive newborn on the material. If you are a lover of metalic Siliver this appears to be a great car seat. I am looking foward to getting my new one with softer colors and softer material.

This carseat is very light weight yet really durable. I would definitely recommend it to others. The only small problem I have is the not so easy methods of securing the base in the car. The openings to which the seat belt must slide through are pretty narrow which hurts my fingers a bit, making me a bit hesitant about removing the base. But other than that, excellent buy!

I am pregnant with baby #3. I previously had a graco infant seat, but had to buy an infant seat with a narrower base, so I can fit 3 across in my Chevy Equinox. I'm so excited with this seat, not only is it narrower than my graco, but it seems more compact. Love the handle and it seems to have more padding. Overall it's a great seat and I'm very pleased.

I only have one complaint about this seat, the fabric feels like plastic, but no biggie for me. We bought 2 of these for our twins and we put a JJ COLE Infant Bundle Me totoal body support in each and now the fabric isn't so stiff anymore.
Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. I don't know what others are talking about as I have never had an issue with the handles on either seat. They come fully assembled and ready to go. The base is a breeze to install and its effortless to take the seats out of the bases. Yes, they are a little heavy with a growing child in them, but every seat at some point will get heavy with a growing baby.
We have the matching sit and stand stroller and they are both wonderful. If you want quality and safety and durability at an affordable price then look no further.
Awesome products and I definately highly recommend. I would buy again and again.

I bought this carseat for my newborn baby girl. It goes greaat with my sit and stand double stroller which i use for my 2yr old boy and my now 7month old baby girl. I chose this carseaat because of its reviews and because it can be used with either a boy or a girl. It is very durable because my 2yr old constantly plays around with it, I've lost count with how many times hes taken off the canopy but its still there and works perfectly. I love the canopy it is very large and covers my baby great from the sun. The only thing i absolutely hate is its material it makes my baby sweat like crazy and now that summer is comming around its even worse also the straps to strap her in are not giving out anymore so she is now fitting in kinda tight, therefore we are currently looking for a convertible car seat for her. My hubby also complains that it is very long and doesnt let the driver seat in our 05' corrolla go too far back it is much longer than the one we got for our son the first time around...but other than that it has been a good product and like i said very very durable....I would recommend this product for someone with a baby born around winter time.

Just reach behind and turn the knob a few clicks every now and then, time saving and saves alot of frustration. this is my second baby trend car seat and it works perfectly. i love the handle it works very well you can hold it anyway you want not like those g**** brands. it easy to set up. the only problem is the black strip on the bottom fell off but its not needed. this also happened with my first car seat and i used it until my baby turned one with no problems. overall great car seat. easy to wipe clean no need to wash in the machine.

Ok, I first want to start by saying I'm not a first time Mom. I have a 2 year old and am now 8 months pregnant with #2. Let me just say to the reviews regarding the weight of this car seat that I completely disagree. I had a Graco Snugride with my daughter and it was ok but this car seat feels no heavier than the Graco. Now the base is much heavier so maybe that's what people are commenting about. Anyway, I have no issues with the buttons on the handle or the release button. Mine work very smoothly. I have to say how impressed I was with the amount of padding this seat offers. The absolutely best attribute in my eyes is that the straps can be adjusted simply by turning a knob on the back of the seat. With Graco and my Eddie Bauer Convertible seat you have to take the entire thing apart to be able to adjust the strap height. Being a seasoned car seat user I can't say enough about how happy I was that I took a chance and bought this seat. It's a much better value and I can tell I'm going to love it! The only thing I can't speak to is the installation but it seems like it will be fine. Honestly haven't met a car seat yet that wasn't a pain to install!

I am having my 4th baby and need to purchase a new carseat. I have used the BabyTrend car seat with the first 3 and loved it. It is heavy, but that's is because it is built to support the baby in it. I can't stand the lighter yet less durable brands. I would rather carry the extra weight and no that my baby is safe. No other brand craddles the babies as well as this one. I can't say enough.

I have a hard time getting my premie twins in, the straps are 2 tight when trying to place them in the car seats. There is no other adjustment to allow the straps to lengthen and it doesn't seem there is room to grow with the car seats. After 45 mins on hold with customer service they were clear to point out that these car seats are not made to use with a jacket, blanket or bundle me. I was able to lengthen the strap (buckle) a few inches which have given a little relief, but I still question whether it will last the seat belt law requirements and a child's growth. I will more than likely have to donate these after this summer and purchase new ones what will accommodate bundle me or jackets. Also may consider buying another brand if you don't want to sit on hold for 45 mins for a 2 min call for assistance. I did read the manual, my wife loves that fact that I do read directions and I'm not afraid to ask for directions either.

After reading the #1 Rated symbol online I thought it would be a perfect carseat for a first time mom like myself. This carseat was not all that great, the handles buttons are so hard to press and get the handle down. It was so frustrating being at the doctors office or a store and looking like an idiot not being able to take the handle down to get my son out. Plus the carseat is heavy, my son was born 9 pounds, add that to the carseat and this thing was alot to carry. The canopy had great coverage but once my son was 7 months old he was playing with it and broke the cheap plastic piece. Overall I would not ever buy a babytrend carseat again! Although the diaper champ works nicely :)

I would NOT recommend this car seat for anyone. It is so heavy. I have used this car seat for all three of my children (we can't afford to buy another one) and I continually throw my back out trying to carry it! The triangular handle is awkward. On the up side, it must be durable. It lasted through all of my children.

This product was better than I expected it to be. I have a baby trend jogging stroller and I bought this car seat so I wouldn't have to buy a travel system because once spring hits, I'll want to buy a double jogger (that's all we use is joggers, for shopping and everything). Anyhow, I took a chance that it would fit into the jogging stroller and it does! Also, it ended up being the exact same fabric/pattern which was nice. I knew it would be close but couldn't remember what my jogger was called. The seat looks very comfy, it could use a little more padding I would say, but overall seems great. I haven't had the baby yet so I'm not sure how he'll like it, but for my first I had an evenflo which I loved, but this one seems so much better already. It has the really nice rubber part on the handle which helps with carrying it.

This car seat is very trendy, however that is NOT what counts! It is way too heavy, the handle is VERY hard to disengage...I end up wanting to throw it accross the room before I get that handle down! Also the strap doesn't even fit up to 20lbs. I would NOT buy this carseat again, even if Wal-Mart wanted to give it to me!!!
