This is intimidating to set up the first time, but once you figure it out the baby slips in fairly easily. I think this provides good back support. I feel very secure with the baby in it.
Great!!

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
It was hard to find a carrier that fit my wide body and short torso. I love the lumbar support. Great for walk with a restless infant. Great to use when the stroller can't be used. Easy to put baby in and take baby out, even when they fall asleep. I haven't used the carrier in the summer months, I don't know how well it breathes in the high heat.
The Best Carrier Ever

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
I have tried many baby carriers in the last month including the Peanut Shell, Hotsling, Chicco, Baby Ktan, Infantino and Moby Wrap. Please don't waste your money like I did on the others. Nothing comes close to the baby Bjorn. I am average height 5'4" and 165 lbs post-baby wt :). The other carriers seem to work well at first but after only 30-45 min caused back pain, shoulder pain or didn't support my 8lb baby very well. It was so disappointing. My Baby Bjorn works perfect and can even be adjusted for my husband. The lumbar support is wonderful and I use it for many hours at a time and even walks around the block. This product by far is the best of the best!
Kills my shoulders!

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
I was really excited to try the Baby Bjorn Active after using a cheap Snuggly hand me down. My son really liked riding in that one but it was difficult to put on and put him in by myself and his face rubbed on the straps. The problem with the Bjorn is all the weight is distributed to the shoulders and there is no padding in the straps. Even the cheap Snuggly had padding there. Plus, my son just wasn't as comfortable in it. I returned this unit and purchased a Jeep 2-in-1 carrier for only $39.99 and it is much more comfortable (lots of padding in the shoulders), it is similar to the city or original version of the Baby Bjorn as far as the strap configuration, and my son is much happier in it. Plus, I saved [$]!
Love it

My 3 month old baby loves the Bjorn. I can get all of my shopping done, walk the dog, pick up around the house, etc. He never cries when he is in it like he does in the car seat/stroller. I don't know what I would do without it!
Get an Ergo or a Beco instead

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
I bought this when I was expecting my first. I was naive like so many other new moms. I hated it. It was uncomfortable and I hated that my daughter was dangling in it. I later discovered that this was not good for her spine b/c all her weight was on it rather than her butt. I did some research and found the Ergo. We loved it! She sat on her butt in it and it was much more comfortable. It has a hip belt that helps distribute the baby's weight. The weight limit is much higher (probably over 35 lbs) and you can wear it on your back. I wore her in the Ergo until she was well past 2 years old. For the price of this Bjorn, it's a waste of money b/c you can't use it for as long as you can other carriers. We now have a Beco as well, which enables you to secure the baby in the carrier before putting it on your back. We use the Ergo and Beco interchangeably. The downside is you have to order online and don't get to try it before you buy it, but it's still by far better than a Bjorn.

This carrier has amazing support both for you and the baby. My baby loves being in it, and I love it especially because it supports him when he's facing out - which is the only way he likes to face.
Not adjustable for baby

This product was great for the first 4 months...... then my son got chunky and the Bjorn does not adjust around the baby, only the mom. So needless to say it only was good for 4 months.
Too hot for summer

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
Ultimately, GREAT as a hands free carrier, just think twice about the material and time of year you're most going to use it...
Comfortable fit for both me and my husband. GREAT because it's easy to adjust and get on and off by yourself (I have yet to find a sling that I like because there's just too many adjustments - and forget about getting dad to use a sling!)
Been able to use since baby was born (in March) but once the days got too warm, so did we! The material doesn't breathe and keeps baby cuddled up close - great for winter, not for summer. I commute with my son and had intended to take him with me in the Bjorn instead of stroller (easier in NYC to navigate steps than find elevators!) But "hands free" with this style would mean heat stroke on hot & humid days :-(
Not sure the more expensive design (with "extra" back support) is worth it. It appears to have more support, but after a day of errands, I was very aware of carrying my son. Probably need lower support instead of middle/upper back.
Also, use caution on steps! Carrying your little one this way will remind you of pregnancy and not being able to see your feet! But since we all adjusted to that, it's well worth the hands free aspect - at least you can grab the railing!
A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
This product is simply amazing. To start with, I have a back problem. A bad one. I never thought I could use any baby carrier in my lifetime. When my second son was born, I see a lot of people using baby carriers so I felt a pang of jealousy and so I decided to go to babies r us to buy one. I first bought a different brand (cheaper one) but it didn't feel right and it keeps on getting loose as I use it and it puts a strain on my back.
I decided to buy a baby bjorn carrier. Wow! The fit on my body is just right. The straps are very comfortable even for longer periods of time, my back didn't hurt when I used it and it holds the baby safely.
When I got back to my country, I found out on the internet that baby bjorn apparently made some minor changes on my style of baby carrier because of a minor flaw in the production. I immediately e-mailed them to let them know that I bought the same style. They simply asked for my address and without asking for a receipt (as my proof of purchase) they sent me a new one! Now I have 2 baby bjorn carriers!
Great product + Great service = A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER!
I returned all the other slings

I tried the Boppy sling and another one that was made from Organic materials. The others just didn't have the comfort for me or the baby so I returned them. My sister in-law recommended Baby Bjorn and said all her kids loved it and so did my brother who also carried the kids alot. It really is comfortable despite the akward initial setup. My husband uses it all the time too...we began using it on our infant son at 5 days old as he was over 8 lbs. We love having our hands free again.
Great Purchase!

We've used this for all three kids, it's nice that both my husband and myself can use it as it is easily adjustable. The kids always seem comfortable in it, we used it for our first daughter until she was a year and a half. Great product!

Once you get used to putting this thing ceeon and getting your baby in it it's great, just takes a little practice. I have a large chest and needed the added support of this one versus the original and it's great!
Daddy likes it

I found this product difficult to adjust. I did it once for me and then we did it once for my husband. For each time it took us at least 30 minutes, so we have left it set up for him.
He likes the Bjorn and really likes the lumbar support. I prefer the Moby wrap.
I don't like how the Bjorn holds the baby, she kind of dangles by her crotch, but she doesn't seem to mind.
Also, for the cost we wish it could be used on the back as well as the front.
This is the second one I bought. Great

Comments about BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Active Black Silver:
This product is a huge blessing. My son loves to be held and carried, however, we weren't getting any house work done. We are now able to carry him and have our hands free to do other chores too. I have a bad back, but the lumbar support on this model minimizes the strain. My son would cry when I put him in slings or other carriers. He feels secure and safe in the Baby Bjorn and loves to see what's going on.
