I bought this car seat when my little girl was about 5 months old. She's almost a year old now, and it has never given me any trouble at all! It is easy to lock it into the latch system--it has these little "mini-buckles" that look like the regular buckles in the car that you just push down into the crack of your back seat until it latches on. It's a tank of a car seat, you will never have to worry about your baby's safety in this thing. VERY sturdy construction with a soft, natural recline for your baby's comfort. Glad I invested in this--worth every last penny.

This carseat is excellent. My daughter is so comfortable in it. The straps adjust wonderfully and the seat rear faces up to 35 pounds which is great because we are doing the extended rear facing because it is much safer than flipping a child around at 1 year. I highly reccomend this car seat. [...]

We bought this carseat for our 5 1/2 month old. She cried everytime we put her in her infant seat. We went on our family Vacation to Destin, Fl (7 hours drive) and she did great in her new Britax carseat. She did not cry at all so it says a lot about the carseat. We converted to this model after the rear-facing fancy Italian-sounding one when baby hit 1 year old. She was barely 21 pounds, and the seat kind of enveloped her. Consider that if you want to switch to it when the baby is still tiny.
It's sturdy, but a tad bulky. The latch system works fine on it, although make sure you read your car manufacturer's instruction manual, because some of the latch systems on older models are only rated to 40 pounds of weight. Since the seat is rated to 60+ pounds, then you probably will switch to the seat belt harnesses once the baby is a lot bigger.
I wouldn't recommend purchasing it for rear-facing, although it's set up that you can install it that way. Unless you have something with incredible backseat clearance, it's probably not going to fit very well, with its back up against the front seats. So if you got the monster SUV's, go for it, but if you have a regular sedan or crossover type of car, I wouldn't try it for the little ones.
Cleaning isn't a jiff, but then again, it's never a jiff on any carseat. The child's comfort level seems great most of the time, except when she nods off. Since it sits upright, her head kind of bobs to the sides or almost straight down when napping. Might need to add a 3rd party kit to try for some more toddler comfort.
I haven't really focused much on the positives, but that's because anything else associated with the carseat is top notch from a quality manufacturer like this one. It's solid and easy to install, and unlike some other brands from cheaper retailers, you have that sense of security that the seat isn't going anywhere. That alone is worth the higher cost.

This is a GREAT car seat. I love that it has adjustable straps on BOTH sides, so the car seat doesn't slant to one side (like most car seats do). LOVE IT!

I was very excited when I bought the car seats at Babies R Us. I read all kinds of good reviews about it and decided to go with Britax Marathon. I bought two since we have two cars. Unfortunately, the car seat does fit in my husband's Acura TL with rear facing. If we install it, it will push the passenger side forward enough that no one can sit there. I am now waiting for my daughter to gain enough weight so we can install it forward facing.

The Britax Marathon car seat is fabulous. Not only does it seem so much safer than the infant seat we used before, it is much more comfortable. My daughter falls asleep in it quicker and longer than the infant seat. She also sits up higher and can look out the back window, which keeps her more entertained. It is a purchase I am very happy with.

My daughter is 7 months old and is tall for her age. She grew out of her infant seat at 6 months. We went an purchased this one and she LOVES it. When she was in her infant seat she would cry all the time. Now she is so happy to be in her carseat. She can see out the windows and it is easy to install. Easy to use. I would definately recommend. We are considering buying a second one just so we don't have to keep transferring it when she goes to daycare. It also got GREAT reviews on "Consumer Reports." We checked with them first and then read the parents reviews here just to make sure everything about it was what we are looking for. It is well worth spending the extra money for something well made. I feel my daughter is safe and secure in this carseat!
