I absoulitly love this bed!! We use it all the time, whenever we travel overnight it's a must take. We go camping almost every other weekend so I take it up and down a lot. It always fits back in the bag just as it came so it's easy to carry around. My daughter loves the music and vibration so it helps aloth a lot with naps and bed time, and thanks to the night light I can check on her without waking her up. I just love it!!!
This is a life saver!

I was planning to write this review for the last 18 months. This is a great product! We bought it as a main bed for our son and used it every single night for the last 18mo. We knew that we will travel a lot. We left US when our son was 5mo old and since then we relocated at least 5 times due to my husband work (not counting vacations). However, our little boy always slept in his own bed and he was so comfortable, even on a new place. If you read the instructions it is very easy to fold/open. We used the newborn/little baby insert until our baby was 6mo old. After he started turning around even with a sleep sack, we switched to the lower level. We used it for everything - main bed, changing table (until month 9) and as a play pan. It is important that the mesh is nice and soft for baby skin and head(when he falls into it). Our son is now 19 months and he moved to a big bed last month but the Chicco bed is still in his room, because he loves to play with the music/light corner. Just keep the box and you can easily check it at the airports if you travel (it counts as baby check-in luggage). It is very durable and well designed.
Love it!!!!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
Just got this today after looking at play yards for the last few months. I don't really understand the bad reviews and why people say it takes so long to put together and take apart. If we had not played with it for a while then it was 10 minutes tops to put up and take down. I had a Graco with my first child and no matter what we did it never fit in the pouch. I always had to carry around 4 or 5 different pieces. This one folded right up the same way it came out and fit perfect. It is a little big so it doesn't fit through doorways, but it is the larger of the Chicco play yards. With my first child I also NEVER rolled it through doorways, and never had a need to. The changing table is very sturdy since it is supported on 3 sides so even as the baby gets bigger it won't lean like I have read a lot of other brands do. It is also heavy, but that just shows it is well made and will last longer than others. I can't wait until our baby gets here to use it!!!
Great Product!!!

Love Love this Chico playpen!!! I had it in my room since my son came home from the hospital. Used the newborn top portion bassinet and it was GREAT!!!!! I love that they have that option. I got this as a gift and this was an AWESOME gift by my sister! Though he never used the safari animals and although its not good for travel (since it is a bit on the heavy side)... its super sturdy and my son plays in it often and takes really great naps! LOVE IT!!!

We use this product DAILY!! We keep it up in the living room. No, you cant use a sheet and the mobile at the same time but I just put down a large recieving blanket and it works perfectly. My son LOVES the zebra on the mobile - we take him everywhere! This play yard is very sturdy. It does take a little patience when packing up for travel - you have to sweet talk it sometimes to get it just right - BUT it packs up very nicely and is easy to transport. The case has slots for the wheels so you dont have to carry it.
My son does not like the vibration feature so we dont use that. I have only used the light a few times but it did come in handy those times. The music is very calming and good songs to sing along with.
I would buy this product again and have suggested it to my friends!
Very sturdy

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
We bought this for our second after our bassinet was part of a big recall. Our son didn't get much use from it and we only lugged it with us on rare occasions because of its weight, however we have been using it for almost 7 months with my third kiddo and it has been great as a bassinet in our room. It is very sturdy. The only reason for 5 stars instead of 5 is that you can't use the mobile if you want to put a sheet on the bed and you can't find mobiles that fit on pack and play's anywhere. I refuse to lower my stars because of its weight, if it was lighter it wouldn't be as sturdy!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
This is heavy and bulky and not easy to travel with. I've used it for the changing table, but have yet to be able to take it down myself! There aren't adequate instructions on it to do yourself. I'm standing here shaking it to try to unlatch and now have to go find the instructions because I can't get this thing down! If you're traveling, I'd recommend a cheaper, easier one. It's nice, but not practical.
Not worth the money

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
This pack 'n' play is impossible to set up and take down! I cannot even do it myself- I have to get my husband to do it. He even struggles with it. It does not lock in place when you try and set it up. It won't unlatch when you try and take it down. I thought this was going to be so nice since it was one of the more expensive pack 'n' plays and because of the brand. Another disadvantage is how bulky and heavy this is. It is very difficult to travel with. My sister bought an inexpensive pack 'n' play for her daughter. It was over $100 less than this one. Though it is not as sturdy, it serves its purpose and it is a breeze to set up, take down, and travel with.

We used this everyday at home for my son to nap or play in until he was about 14 months. Having the changer was a great help. (we have a townhouse, so we didnt have to run upstairs to change him) Also, took one of these playards to the babysitters and my son slept in in everyday at her house until about a year and a half. Very sturdy. We never used the bar with toys though.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
This is great for th baby ~ always was a big fan of Pac N Plays and the ease of setting up and taking apart... Great for babies ~ love the changing pad and how it flips up and down with ease... Setting up is much more difficult though then the older ones.. Not sure how the new ones set up since it's been years since I've owned one. This took me way to long to set up ~ too many snaps and velcro but I suppose it's necessary for safety of the baby.
Not worth the price!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
Seeing how costly this was i thought that all the features would be worth it. No! This is a great pack n play if you never plan on taking it anywhere. Its an extreme pain in the butt to set back up. The bars are nearly impossible to lock into place. Travel with it? Be prepared to pick the whole thing up and carry it. When folded up, theres nothing to lock the legs together so when you put it in the case the wheels spread too far apart and will not roll. Once again, great if you dont plan on taking it down or traveling with it. Otherwise save your money and get a user friendly play yard.
Can't use a sheet & mobile in bassinet
03/11/2010 by Rebekistan, NY,
Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
The mechanics of unfolding this play yard take some getting used to
Because of where the mobile attaches, you can't use the mobile with a sheet on the bassinet mattress. It pains me to have to put the mobile away, but it would be even worse if my little one wet the mattress and then was left without somewhere to sleep for the rest of the night!
Great Product

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
I was so excited about the product because I have been very happy with Chicco products and this was a great neutral and stylish playard. When I got it I didn't think that I would use the nightlight and music attachment but it turns out my son LOVED it. We had a cradle and a crib and so we didn't use this much at home and so I didn't use the changing pad or mobile.
The three things I love best about this product is the drop down side panel. This was a must have for me and not very many playards have it. I also love the detachable storage for diapers and other necessities. When traveling this very helpful. My favorite part is that it rolls like luggage and stands on it's own so it is VERY easy to travel with which it the whole point.

OVERALL:
PACKNPLAY - GREAT
CARRYING CASE - GREAT
ACCESSORIES - A JOKE.
It pains me to say this because I really love Chicco products, but I'm not crazy about this pack-n-play! We used this in our room every day for the first 8 weeks after our baby was born and I never used the mobile, or the night light, or the music, or the changing pad. We traveled a lot during her second month, and there is no way I was going to pack all of the accessories with us. It's all unnecessary! If you don't have a nursery for the baby, or a crib - then this is the pack-n-play for you, but otherwise - I wouldn't pay the extra $$ for things you won't ever use. I used the bassinet attachment for the first 8 weeks and that was very nice to have, HOWEVER, it was a NIGHTMARE to install. I tried on 3 different occasions to install the bassinet and each time I thought it was going to put me into labor! And I'm no dummy.
I love the pack-n-play by itself though. It's very sturdy and has nice little storage for diapers, wipes, whatever. I also like the carrying case - it has storage which is meant for all the accessories, but I use it to keep blankets and pack-n-play sheets. The case also has slots for the wheels so you can wheel it around (especially nice at the airport). We only use this for houseguests and for when we travel - and it's great for that as long as you leave all the accessories at home.
If I could do it again, I would save my $ and buy something just as comfy and more basic. You don't need all the bells and whistles.
Not bad

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
1.Changing table-has never been used! It's uncomfortable, crooked, baby rolls on one side
2. Toys are boooooring, not really doing much for the baby, not colorful either.
3. Mattress in the bassinet is not even and it's soft which is not good for the baby
4. It's too wide to fit through the doors!
5. Vibration does not do anything!
6. Lights go on for just 5 mins then turns off

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
We bought this one over others because of the nice thick mat. We use this everyday for changing and naps and we use it to travel. The toys were useless since they are so hard to set up and can only be used without a sheet on the mat. The bassinet and changing table have metal rods that make them sturdy, but too heavy to travel with. We just bring the basic playard for travel and it's much more manageable.

I love this playard from chicco. It is very sturdy and has all of the features we love. We use it as a bassinet for our newborn in our bedroom. It plays music to soothe her and the remote control is great. I also love that the changing table is attached for late night diaper changes. The vibration feature is neat too. I am sure that it will be just as great when we begin to use it as a playpen. It is not easy to take apart for travel (we got a second cheaper graco one for that). We bought this wanting a sturdy permanent playard for our home. This is the most used and favorite of all of the gifts from my shower for the baby.
I would buy this again

I love this pack and play at first we used it as a bassinet for our son. We never really used the diaper changer. However now i use it as i am a traveling nanny and bring my son with me it is great for naps. I have noticed with the other pack and plays (in the homes i work in) the mats are awful, very thin. This CHICCO mat is much thicker and more comfortable.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
I wanted this as an alternative to my son's crib. I spent an hour comparing playards and their mattresses--this one felt firm and well-padded.
My son slept soundly on it until the third time that I'd washed the mattress. I don't know if it was the act of washing it or sleeping on it for a month, but the padding in the mattress is so thin that I can feel the wooded boards through the surface. My son can't sleep on it for longer than an hour at a time now. He's back in his crib this morning .
Before I washed it, it was definitely the best. Now, it's no better than the cheap playards.
Word of warning: the instructions are hidden in a pouch under the mattress. I did not find them until they came out of the washing machine in wet clumps.

I am not super happy for the price that was paid. It is too wide to fit through our door ways to move from room to room. I thought all the "extras" would be great but it is just more clutter. the "bassinet" part I do not like at all, it does not lay flat.

I was excited to purchase this item. I loved how it looked in the store, and I read all the earlier comments about the product.
I got the box home, opened it right away, and found no instructions in the box. I was able to figure out how to set it up, however, when it came time to locking the bottom open, it would not stay open. it kept folding in on itself even though the sides were locked. The middle just kept popping back up. I was extremely disapointed and returned it back to the store the next day. I am still looking for a play yard.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
I got this to replace a Travel Light crib that my little guy outgrew, and wish that I had gotten this one in the first place. The great quality matches all of the other Chicco products that I have!
The unit on display in the store had little booties on the top of the mattress that the gym snapped into, and I almost didn't buy it for that reason. The display must be an older version, though, because the ones in the packages have gyms that attach to the mattress bottom with velcro. It is easy to attach the gym and still use the changing pad at the same time, and there is nothing on top of the mattress for an older baby to "find". (The changing table is slightly different than the display, as well, and is easier to break down, pack away, and reassemble).
Set up was a breeze - all from common sense without needing the instruction book - and took just a few minutes. When I did read the book to make sure I had done it right, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Attaching the bassinet is more complex than other brands, but the bassinet seems to be better quality. Attaching the changing table is as simple as zipping it on!
I love that the mattress is sturdy enough that doesn't bow when you lay the child down like other brands do, but it is still cushy. I like that the changing table is strong and has a safety belt. I love the electronics module, but wish it had an MP3 input and voice recorder. I like that the vibration option doesn't require any additional components or cords. I like that it has a remote.
Breaking the Chicco unit down was much easier than packing up the Travel Light. I like that the wheels poke through the bag for easy moving, but I wish that the bag had a more solid bottom so that extra "stuff" could be packed inside for travel. I love that the bag has an extra compartment (when the bassinet is no longer needed) that can be used to pack all of Baby's stuff. I also love that the bag has multiple handle options for cary

It was extremely easy to set up with minimal parts to actually put together. It has very thick material and looks very durable. The mattress is also pretty thick as compared to other brands. The colors are neutral so it will suit a boy or girl, and in our case it is a girl. It plays 3-4 different lullaby's and has a nightlight. The playard also comes equipped with a remote for the lullaby's and light which works at 15-20 foot distance controlling light, volume and song selection (very small and portable). To add to all the hype the playard has wheels which makes it very portable and easy to roll from room to room.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
I give this product an overall high rating. It is larger than other playards, but also has more safety features, which makes it worth it. Here are some positive and negative points to a few of the key aspects of this playard:
Convenience: This is a very convenient set. I love that it has a changing table connected to it. The pockets and the changing table easily zip off, if you don't want to pack them to take wherever you are going. It comes with everything you need. We use this instead of a large crib in our apartment.
Sturdiness: This is a very sturdy bassinet/playard. After hearing reports of some babies actually falling through the bassinets of playards, I went to the store and put pressure on several different varieties of bassinets. Several bend in the middle of the bassinet. However, this playard's bassinet has two bars as well as pressed wooden slats underneath the mattress. It actually can hold a lot of weight. I never worried about the bassinet bowing in the middle or having weak spots.
Washable: It is washable, which is a plus, especially when you have a little boy. You will need a standard/larger washing machine to wash the mattress. The changing table isn't that large and is also washable.
Storage: It has several pockets to store diapers, wipes, extra socks, etc. I store the bag it comes in, as well as extra diapers and wipes under the playard as well.
Directions: It does take awhile to put up and take down the first few times you do it. There are a lot of pieces, especially to the bassinet. I put this playard together, by myself, when I was 8 months pregnant. I didn't think that the directions were difficult at all (if you've ever put together a tent, that experience will be helpful). The directions do not make clear though that you must lock the top rails in place before you can lock the bottom to put it up, and to take it down, the bottom must be unlocked before the top rails can be unlocked. If you don't do it
I would buy this product again and again

Comments about Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Sahara:
This is a great pack and play. We have used it more than I ever thought we would. My son sleeps great in it and I have no complaints. It was a little difficult to put together but nothing that wouldn't make me buy it. I like the fact that it doesn't need extra crib sheets. That helps cut down on the expenses of a new baby. I also like that the mat velcros to the bottom of the pack and play. This makes it a little more difficult for our wild child to move the "mattress." He has a pack and play at his grandparent's house that he likes to roll up the mattress and use it for a pillow. That doesn't happen with the Chicco. It is also a little complicated to take down but only until you figure out the order of the take down process. I actually like that it is difficult. I feel like I do not have to worry about him taking it down himself; which he has done with the above mentioned grandparent's pack and play. We like this product so much we are about to but another one for our new addition.

This will be used downstairs as a changing table and napper. It took my husband and I 10 mins to set up, and I have a pregnancy brain! It is very sturdy and lighter than most Pack-n-plays (based on the weights listed under additional info). The changing table is totally sturdy and the floor mat has a nice amount of padding. Did I mention that this is the #1 rated pack-n-play on consumer reports?
