Easy to set up once you read instructions.....anyone who has trouble with this is as best a functioning idiot. We bought a second one for use at our office....and bought a less expensive graco for the babysitter. The graco and other brands set up easier for a reason....they are simpler and lighter because they are flimsy and cheaply made!! Have no delusions about putting this whole thing back in the bag for travel but that is the case with any model of any brand with many features. It breaks down to a few manageable parts very easily and our daughter gets the chicco for everyday use while only being subjecteded to the flimsy competitors model once a week. The vibration and music by remote often get her settled and back to sleep very easily! Great product!
Love this pack n play

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
This has been a great pack n' play! Once you get comfortable with setting it up and taking it down, it's so simple to do. We used it in our room as a bassinet when our son was a newborn and we still use it for him when we are away from home. The padding is excellent. It is a quality product, plus it comes with all the bells and whistles. The only negative that I have is that it doesn't fit through the door to move assembled from room to room. That was never an issue for us though because we never needed to move it once it was assembled.
One of my best buys!

We used this for the first couple months with my son. It was great to have the light/vibrating feature for when I needed to check on him or when he wanted to be rocked. I also loved the changing table option, although it is difficult to store. It is fairly heavy and sometimes difficult to get back into the bag, but overall a quality product!
Best one we found

This is really a great product. it's sturdy and I love that when we travel i have a changing table with me as well. Whem my two year old was about 15-18 months, he made it almost impossible to change a diaper unless he was on a changing pad so it really was great to have that. The padding is pretty thick making it pretty comfortable. We travel quite a bit and we bring this with us every time and it still looks brand new. We're very happy with this item.
top bar actually bent!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We received this as a gift for our baby shower. First off, it was difficult to assemble but I have learned that most bigger items for babies and toddlers are. We attempted to use this as a bassinet but my daughter would cry when we put her in it. The vibration feature is a joke...it's not strong enough to make a difference. The music is not at all soothing, you're better off using a CD in a laptop. Also, the changing table doesn't fit on properly and tilts to one side. Oh and that bag they give you for convenient travel...good luck getting it in there! That's a joke! Still, with all of those things, I would have given it to a friend and said not to use the changing table and don't count on the vibration or music to calm your baby. The deal breaker for me...the one metal rod on the top actually bent when I tried close it up and put it in the travel bag. That may seem like no big deal because perhaps I used too much force but I weigh 105 lbs. I should NOT have been able to bend a metal rod, crucial to holding a baby in a bassinet, with my bare hands! That, in and of itself, is plenty reason to avoid this product! It is expensive and perhaps I would have given it 3 stars and said it's not the greatest but the bar thing was the final straw.
Buy something less expensive.
Just ok

We really like this product. It is easy to pack up and assemble. It looks nice and is easy to transport. The only downside is that we had a large baby and couldn't use the bassinet feature for very long. We wished that the weight limit was a bit higher for that feature. We didn't really find the music or light that helpful, but we did take advantage of the vibration feature. All in all we really like this product.
VERY useful!!

We have used this play yard for the past 14 months, first using it as a basinet and changing table, then as a pack and play, taking it everyhwere with us, from overnight stays at friends' houses, to extended family vacations. We absolutely love it - and it packs up and stores really easily. We've carried it on the airplane several times, and it's held up incredibly well through everything. We haven't used the added features - lights, vibration, mobile, etc., but those don't seem that necessary to me.

WAAAY TOO HEAVY AND BULKY. Must have second person to fold up and put away, no mom can do it by herself! Very difficult to put back in the carry bag and hard to figure out which way to wrap the mattress and then place the wheels in so it can be carried. Once this pack n play it set up in your house, it must be totally dissembled to move from room to room. And definetly not worth the money!
Love it!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We use this product daily in our living room. The first 3 months we used the changing table for diapers multiple times a day, and the bassinet level for naps a few times a week. Our son is already 24 inches at 3 months so we took off the changing pad, and just change him on the bassinet level as well as nap there. He loves it. We have never had any problems with this product at all. My husband and I were able to put it together in 30 min or less without the instructions...That was the one pitfall of the product, the instructions are in a pocket on the bottom of the mattress pad so we didn't find them until we had the thing completely put together :) We haven't moved the pack and play yet but will soon in a couple of weeks for a wedding.
Awful to take apart!

I love everything else about this product, but it is HORRIBLE to assemble and especially to disassemble! The button always sticks on two of the sides and it just will not come apart. It's extremely frustrating when traveling! I would not recommend to anyone!
Worth every penny

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We've used the bassinet and the playyard constantly for the past 15 months. We've also taken one 1200 mile trip with it, and used the changing table during the trip.
I agree it is bulky for travel, but it was reasonably easy to set up afterwards. Since it included a changing table, bassinet and playyard, it really was an efficient piece of equipment to take along on the trip.
However, I would say this play system really shines for in-home constant use -- which is exactly what we've given it! The one and only problem we ever had was that the vibrating unit ate batteries like crazy and, after six or so months of operation, didn't work as well as it once had. It also only lasts 10 minutes, but it does have a remote. However, it was kind of moot re: the less efficient function, because we had moved to other ways of soothing my daughter to sleep. But it was terrific when she was a newborn.
Most of all, we've appreciated the sturdiness and safety. It's very well made and easy to take apart to clean. Standard size playyard sheets fit the mattress, which is comfortable without being too soft for baby. It's also safe for cruisers as well. The mesh sides are sturdy but protect baby from injury when s/he's trying to stand and cruise, and the rails (with the exception of the corners) are covered with sturdy canvas and padded. I've never had a moment's unease about leaving my daughter in there for naps or play. Because it *is* heavy, it's a lot sturdier than other models -- which is important when you've got a big baby, like I do, who's cruising and falling often!
The price is higher than other models, and I admit, I quailed a little when I saw how much it cost. However, it was one of the top rated in safety, convenience and durability by Consumer Reports, and we have more than gotten our cost per use out of this thing. Even after all the constant use to which it's been subjected, it's in good enough shape that we'll be a

We received this as a shower gift. I had read the reviews of this product and was nervous to begin the assembly. I read the instructions, my husband assembled and it took us about 5 minutes. It was easy! My only con is weight and bulk of the product, especially when its folded up in its traveling bag. However, I havent compared that to other pack n plays, so that might be the norm. We are looking forward to using this when our little one first comes home. The construction is very solid and I like the music/vibration feature. I wish the animals moved around, but I can find a use for them I'm sure. Overall a good product.
Great - but toy bar is worthless

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We love everything about this playyard, except for the toy bar. It is in the way when trying to lie baby in it or take him out of it. Also, the animals just hang there - I wish they moved like a mobile. The vibration/music/light feature is great but we seem to go through batteries like crazy with it. The nice thing is, you can take the part that contains the vibration/music/light out and we would attach it to his bassinet at bedtime. Works like a charm!
Great!

This play yard is great. The remote control makes it easy, especially in the first few weeks with the infant level and changing table so mother's don't have to strain picking up the baby. The light, vibration, and musical feature with the mobile is perfect for infants! Great play yard but aggravating to assemble until you get the hang of it.

The changing table on this pack n play is low compared to others. Your back can really start to hurt when your trying to change all those newborn diapers! All the other features are fine but I wouldn't recommend this pack n play to new parents out there. I would be smarter next time and purchase one with an elevated changing table.

We really like this play yard. We have traveled with it several times and our baby is really comfortable sleeing in it. It is very secure and it feels safe and study. The first time we assembled it, it was a bit challenging. However the more we use it the easier it is to put up and take down. We enjoy the vibrating/music/night light feature. It soothes our son when we put him to bed. Plus it comes with a remote! Standard play yard sheets fit really well.

Love, love, love this play yard. Was confusing to set up the first time but easy after that. The bassinet feature is great, as well as the vibration/music/light box. Honestly haven't used the toys. The mattress is cushioned but firm - much better than other play yards. The changing station is great too. It's big and heavy, but it's quality.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We've had this playard since our daughter was born. We couldn't find the instructions and tried to go online to get some - not much luck. So we tried to put it together on our own and I finished it after my husband got frustrated and gave up. Well, after 4.5 months, I just found the instructions - tucked into a discrete pocket on the basinet pad. UGH! Well, we've since re-assembled it and I feel much better about the purchase now. We originally bought this item b/c we tought the portability of all the options it offered would be great, but it hasn't left our living room and I doubt once our daughter out grows the changing table and basinet we will want to take those on trips. If you really like the Chicco brand and have the money to spend, this would be a good purchase. Otherwise, maybe find something that isn't as expensive.
Not as good as I thought

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
After reading many reviews and researching, I added this play yard to my registry in the other color (Miro). Thought it was a neutral design and liked the Chicco brand, but it wasn't as practical as I had imagined.
Pros- Plays music; has a "crying" sensor so it plays music and starts the vibrating feature when baby cries; has remote control.
Cons- The vibrating sensor is weak; the "toy bar" REALLY gets in the way when you're trying to put your baby down in the bassinet....esp. if he/she is light sleeper and you want to transition them from your arms to the bassinet as smoothly as possible; broken plastic piece when we opened the box; the bassinet "padding" is kind of hard/uncomfortable.
I would def. check out other play yards in the store first before making a purchase. If I had done that, I would not have added this one to registry. There's definitely cheaper and better ones than this one.

This works awesome for our two level house, changing the baby is a snap on the changing table. The changing table is plastic so it can get cold, I just put a receiving blanket down & she is very happy. She loves the soothing sounds and massage. I also love that the mat & gym can be used on he floor as well. We mostly use this for naps & to change diapers so we do not have to run up & down every time. It is a little heavy, so if you want it for travel I would not recommend this.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
This playard has been great! We initially had a small bassinet in our bedroom, but opted to use this instead due to the built-in changing table, which is really convenient, as we don't have to bring our son to the nursery every time he needs a change. The playard was easy to assemble and has great features. We haven't tried traveling with it yet, but it was generally easy to assemble and seems to fold up easily. Clean up has been easy. Playard has a nice gender neutral design.

No sheets fit, some problems
03/30/2010 by registry gift, NJ,
Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
CONS:
- No fitted sheets fit; odd size/shaped mattress
- mobile attaches in a way that makes it impossible to have a sheet on mattress while mobile is present
- vibrating tool hangs too high on side --> mattress doesn't actually vibrate as a result.
- Side pockets would've been nice
PROS:
- voice activator and remote are cool
- good for bigger baby; won't outgrow quickly
It works if you never move it!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
I'm currently using this for my son who is now 4 months. I have it assembled with the changing station and the bassinet. This thing is WAY too complicated. Perhaps I'm slow but it took me like 40 minutes to put it all together. There are too my parts and it's extremely heavy. There is no way I would even consider traveling with this. Once I actually put it together it's been great having it in our family room for naps and diaper changes. The padding is great and it's very sturdy.
If you are looking for something you can actually travel with this is NOT the playard for you.

I intended to use the bassinet for our newborn in our bedroom and then roll it to the living room during the day for her naps. I was disappointed to find out that it doesn't fit through our door. We do use it in the bedroom, but we don't use the changing table. Also, breakdown and set up is not quick. BUT - we do love the soothing sounds and massage and that the mat & gym can be used on he floor as well.

I use this everyday.
I do not care for the nightlight and music thing that goes on the corner. its Really hard to put the baby in the pack n play with the mobil up. There is NO REAL storage for the changing table. Because of the way the changing table lays on the pack n play we could only really use it for a couple of months before it just became in the way and a pain to use. I wish I would have bought one with the changing area that is lifted.
Don't Like
02/11/2010 by NewMommy!, Cherry Hill,NJ
Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We bought this product because of the activity gym/mobile, we wanted our son to get to use a mobile, but because we have a dog, we didn't want him to always have to play on the floor. Well its pretty disappointing. First of all you can't use the changing table when the activity gym is in use. The worst part is that you can't put a sheet on the crib mattress when the activity gym is in use. Its not that easy to take the gym on and off the bassinet, so it becomes a huge pain. There are other issues as well, like it is difficult to disassemble, and reassemble for travel. THe storage pockets on the side are way to small. I could overlook all of these problems if I could use a sheet with the gym. Who wants to put their baby on cold plastic??? Buy something else!

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
When my son was a baby, I used it as a bassinet. As he got bigger and learned how to roll on-to the bed(which was right next to it), I layed him on the bottom of it. He preferred it over the $800.00 crib. Now he is 2 1/2 and I use it at the edge of my bed so that he doesn't fall off when he sleeps with me. The bed rails were too flimsy. He also loves to jump in it, as he uses it as a lil' house. The musical/light/vibrating gadget that comes with it stopped working, and was rarely used. Now I can't find a replacement. Also, My son wasn't interested in the toys that came with it.

This worked awesome for our two level house, changing newborn baby was a snap on the changing table. He quickly outgrew it, and we've only used it once when he visited his grandmother overnight. I think I'll give it to her for the 2 nights a year he spends there. I say, save your money and get a portable changing table. The product itself is awesome, great colors and very sturdy... I'm just not sure what to do with it. :)

We got this playard to use as a bassinet and crib. My son is 12 months old and he has been sleeping there the whole night since he was born. He LOVES it, so do I. The quality is great, it looks good too. It's very comfortable, the mattress is perfect, other playards have hard mattresses, this one is perfect as is. I used the remote control and the music and vibrations and the light when my son was a newborn every night. The batteries would run out very fast.
I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We bought this play yard because it seemed to be good quality and had many features, but after having used it for over 2 months now, I wish we had bought a different play yard. The main issues for us are: The changing table can only be used if the mobile is not attached to the bassinet and it's a bit of a pain to put it up and down. The storage pockets are way too small and inconveniently located. The mobile can only be used with the bassinet. Our son is now too heavy for the bassinet and we had to put away the mobile, which he loved. I'm going to buy a mobile attachment clamp... Oh, the mobile toys that come with the play yard are very boring for a newborn and we used different toys instead.
hard to set up and tear down

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
My son especially loved the mobile. It is sturdy enough that he could kick, grab, and bang on it for months. We had a hard time setting it up and tearing it down. The bars get stuck, and one side eventually broke from all our banging. On vacation we finally gave up and stuck a broom handle in the side.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
Bought the play yard because I wanted it to match to the high chair and stroller and loved the colors. It was really easy to assemble and is easy to move.
The only thing I hate is that you cannot put any type of sheets on the pad because of the mobile/toys. They snap on to the mattress itself so no way to put anything on it. Whoever designed it that way definitely does not have any kids. The only way to put a sheet on is to remove the toys which beats the purpose of having them there.
Great Playard.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
I am a new mom with a 6 week old baby and like this playard a lot. I didn't realize until 3 weeks after I had her that it had a vibrate setting. She loves it!!! It's very user friendly and sturdy. Two notes: you can't flip the changing table off without everything falling out, I wish the storage nets were located elsewhere (I don't flip the changing table up and down everytime I need to use it. As she get's older I'll need to use the whole basinet, so not a huge deal for now) and you can't hang the toys above her when she sleeps while the changing table is on. Both of these things wouldn't change my decision on purchasing this playard or recommending it to someone else. NOTE: You cannot hang the toys above with a sheet on the mattress.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
We used this play yard as a bassinet and changing table for the first 2 months or so. We didn't use the mobile portion at all, because you can't fit sheets over it. But we kept the toys for our baby to play with on his own. The vibrating feature doesn't really vibrate the bed so much, but the music and lights worked. It has since been packed away into the basement to be used later as a playpen. Only my husband can take this apart and put it together...
Better off with a different pack n play.

Comments about Chicco Lullaby Playard Discovery:
I wish I would've gotten a different pack n play! The changing table on this one has to be put back on each time you want to use it to change a diaper. If you want to put the baby in for a nap then you have to remove the changing table. Plus it does not have any shade like other pack n plays. There are better options for the same price point!
The vibration feature is terrible! Its really loud and jiggles the plastic.

Easy to assemble, lightweight, neutral color! and great features!!!!
I love the remote control - you can turn the night light on and off, vibration, and music can also be control with a click of a button...
The mattress comes out and can be put on to the floor w/ the mobile. So the baby can lay on his/her back and play... When using it like a bassinet you can attach the changing table. I love the changing table and all the pockets it has on the sides. Everything is very easy to detach. Washing the mattress cover is a breeze. (I use DREFT)
The wheels also come in handy. My baby does prefer to sleep in her crib though. I use this as a bassinet in our bedroom
VERY GOOD PADDING - I looked at others they cost MORE and the padding was NOT this good.

The only thing is there are no sheets that fit when the mobile is in. I like having it up, but the sheet doesn't fit along the clasps. I have had lots of drule/ spit up, stain the mattress. Also, the vibrate section is not that good..It's "ok"... but thats not why we got the playyard anyways

I will use this product for my newborn to sleep in our room for the first few months. The attached diaper changer is a plus and the music is cute. It is heavy and bulky to pack up and move but worth the hassle. The vibrate option could work better but works fine. The removable playard sheet is great and can even be removed for some tummy time on the floor with the mobile if needed.

I love the setting when if my baby cries the nightlight and music come on automatically. I'm modifying the sheets I bought so that the toys can fit on with the sheets -thats the only down side.
