Carriers

At a time when you are too busy at work, while you take care of their child, baby carriers are the best choice for you. Baby carriers can be either belt-on models or in wraps. They can be used for children from ages 6 months to four years of age. As the weight of the child grows, baby carriers for older children are designed to lessen the pressure on the spine. There are many types of baby carriers available outside the market. But there should be a soft top carrier for you.Usability of the carrier should be carefully considered. Model you are going to purchase should be easy to take on and off. Taking your child on and off should be an easy job. Otherwise, the carrier will be more of problems for you instead of comfort.

Not Great

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
I got 2 of these as gifts from a baby shower. Carrier suports baby comfortably. . . .once she is in it. Getting either of my twins in or out of this thing is a nightmare. There is also a size difference between each of my girls, so I have to do a lot of adjusting to switch them around. They scream bloody murder getting in or out. Forget it if they fall asleep in it, YOU HAVE to wake them to get them out. I returned the one I didn't open and bought a $29 Infantino Comfort Rider, which I think is amazing compared to this.

Not the best carrier

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
I have used this carrier 4 times and will be getting rid of it...very disappointed in Chicco with this product. It's difficult to get the baby in and out of - it takes two of us to do it properly so trying to use this on a solo trip to the store is out of the question. It also KILLS my back to carry her around in it. The Moby wrap is a much better carrier, wish I would have gone to that product first and not wasted the money on this one!

Not the best

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
My husband and I used this product for short shopping trips or just around the house with our infant. My husband hated it, the larger straps do not adjust, which was the main problem for him. For occasional use it was ok, but not ideal for the adult. My son seemed comfortable in it and it did have soft material that was breathable.

Very complicated to put on and take off. Not very comfortable at all. It's not the worse product and if you are on a budget and need one this one will do the job.

Not what I expected

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
I was really hopeful about this carrier because I love my Chicco travel system. We purchased this carrier because it was significantly cheaper than the Baby Bjorn, but now I know why. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get the baby out. I have to take off the carrier and lay my baby down to get her out of the carrier. I also do not like that you have to adjust the straps every time the baby is wearing different clothing (i.e. with jackets/more padding in winter time). The worst part about this carrier is that it KILLS my back. I could not even stand to use it when my baby was an 8-9lb newborn. It needs a support strap around the waist. My baby is now 15+lbs and wants to sit facing out, but I can't take the strain on my back. I am going to sell this carrier on [...] if I can and get the Bjorn probably....some things are worth the money!

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
Used it about 5 times before I gave up. Struggled to get my newborn in AND out of it. Was not able to do it alone. Always needed a little help from my husband. When she was finally in the carrier, I never felt like she was secure. No matter how tight I made the straps on me (or her) I felt like she was swaying and pulling away from my body. LOVE MY MOBY WRAP!!!

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
My son does not like to be put down, so he really enjoys being carried around in the carrier. He typically falls asleep after a half hour. Only difficult part is getting the baby out of the carrier.

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
Well, I was expected something better for sure. My baby didn't like to stay inside facing me, but to carry him backwards is a pain! I used it 10 time max. If you are planning to use it more often, keep looking. Not recomend it. I bought it because if was made by Chicco - it was a bad choice.

nice for awhile, then the aches came

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
This carrier is very easy to use. It is challenging to move the baby in and out of carrier. I had to remove the carrier, place her down and pull her out of carrier. I used it around the house as a test run for about 45 min and my upper back was aching. I had her longer in the Moby wrap without pain. I do like the burp cloth, soft material and the front facing position.

Comfy Carrier

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
This is my second baby carrier and the only one I've actually liked and used. I'm not a baby-wearing person, but with a 5 year old in preschool and an infant, I needed something so I could occasionally be hands-free. I researched a ton of baby carriers and tried several, including the more popular wrap-style ones (Baby K'tan). Personally, my little guy didn't like to lay down in the wrap-style carriers, so an upright one works better for us. This carrier is very comfy (have used several times for 2+ hours) and is relatively simple to use (not a lot of buckles and adjusting after the first use.) My little guy will even fall asleep in this, which is definitely a plus. I love the burp cloth too.

My only complaint is that I wish it was easier to get baby in and out of, but then again, I haven't found any that fit that criteria and at least I know he's safe and secure. All in all, it would have gotten 5 stars except for the this fairly minor issue. It's definitely worth the money.

Didn't work for my son
2 stars
10/12/2009 by Carl's Mom, NY,

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
The carrier is very soft and looks comfortable for the baby, but the straps are not very comfy for mom or dad. My son liked it at first, but now that he is ready to be forward facing it's even more difficult to get him in and out even when he is relaxed. He weighs 15lbs and we really struggled to get him in and once he was in the carrier seemed to tight and awkward for him-he immediately started fussing.
Better for smaller babies, but not very easy to use by yourself.

Great!

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
I use this carrier while doing house work and making trips to the store (Babies 'r' Us). It comes in handy when I am by myself. I do not always like carrying the car seat, using the stroller, or using them together as a travel system.

It is very soft, the cloth in the front is very handy, and the color is nice and neutral. I found that when my Sofi is relaxed I can get her legs right into the openings. And if you stand up and slowly lift the baby it is a breeze to get her out. I do it pretty quickly. I can see how other people have difficulty, but it is worth playing around with it in your home have your hubby or friend nearby to help and read ALL the instructions. You will really enjoy it if you take your time with it. (when you 1st bring it home)

My baby is 15lbs and 2months - use it very often while cleaning, cooking, and use her as added weight when I take my daily walks LOL

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
It is sooooo hard to get the baby in and out of. Not a 1 person job at all. I am expecting baby #2 and will depend on it. I think Im going to give in and get an easier one to handle. I cant be struggling with it . It looks nice but it needs to be easier to handle. It also caused me alot of backaches and chaffed my neck.

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
This is so hard to get the baby in and out of. My son would scream as I struggled to remove him from the carrier, which should be easy to do. Removing the baby was a two person job, which is totally inefficient. One person has to anchor the carrier and the other has to the pull the baby up and out. AWFUL! I'm getting a Bjorn now.

Not even close to a Bjorn!

08/26/2009 by Avery's Mama, The mountains,CO

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Front Infant Carrier Sahara:
We got this carrier thinking it would be a more affordable alternative to a Bjorn. It is not very comfortable and never adjusted small enough to keep our face-in 3-4 month old from arching her back and leaning to one side, which in turn caused us backaches. Also, when the baby is dace out there is no way to keep the panel from flipping up into her face, no fun! We exchanged it for the Bjorn "active" carrier and there is no comparison. The Bjorn feels like a hug and was worth every penny.

We received this carrier as a shower gift, and couldn't be happier with it! My son loves it, and it makes it easier to carry him around the house and while out and about. Both my husband and I have used it many times and have only good things to say about it!
