not the quality I expected from Chicco

Comments about Chicco You and Me Deluxe Frontal Infant Carrier Black:
I am a faithful Chicco mom owning the travel system, highchair, toys, and diaper bag, but this carrier was not the quality I expected from this company. I purchased this item because of the back support it offered. It was a little cumbersome to adjust the straps for the back piece on the initial use, but once adjusted, it wasn't an issue to wear. Because of all of the adjustments for comfortable parent wear, this item would not be easy to share with another caregiver.Within the first 6 days of owning and daily use, one of the red clips that holds the carrier to the shoulder straps keeping baby in popped off. I returned to BRU and got a new carrier. The second one proved to stand to my daily use until 2 1/2 months after original purchase. The same red pieced popped off AGAIN! This time, I contacted the company and explained my problem. T[...]

One of the clips that holds the front material to the chest part broke as my daughter was sitting in it. Springs went flying everywhere. Luckily, I felt it and had my hands free because she would have ended up on the pavement otherwise. Do not recommend. Also, thought 26 steps of instruction in order to put the item on was a bit much. What mom has time for that?

The buckle is too pointy and placed right at the baby's head level - very unsafe, hard to setup, uncomfortable for the baby, uncomfortable for tall people, bulky
unsafe buckle, bad straps

At the price, this product is just not the quality I had expected.I had problems with the upper buckle withing 2 months. The black pointy thing behind the buckle shifted angles and would not go back to its original place. Because of that, every time I put the baby in the carrier, I ran the risk of hurting him with this sharp edge. Also the belts would come loose after just 1/2 an hour of use when his weight was not even 15 lbs. so he would be hanging much lower than the position I had originally put him in.Arm loops are too tight to put baby's arms through them.I took it back (when I could find time) to [...]. When you have a little one time slips away fast. I have written to Chicco but so far there has been no response.I spent over $100 (with tax) on a carrier that I barely used for 2-3 months. Even otherwise it is too expensive to be used only for babies 0-9 months.

The straps are had to figure out and hard to adjust. I bought it for the lumbar support because I do a lot of walking with my baby but it kills my back. I keep trying to readjust to see if it would be more comfortable another way but have not yet found a comfortable position. I wish I purchased the babybjorn
I would buy this product again!

We bought this for my husband to carry our daughter in however it doesn't fit him. He is 6'4 and it didn't fit his back and shoulders so we had to return it. If you are not a large person than this carrier might work for you.

Comments about Chicco You and Me Deluxe Frontal Infant Carrier Black:
My daughter screamed when she was just a month old and I tried to put her in this, but now at 6 months she's fine with it and has been for a few months. I think it would have helped if I had realized you can adjust the height position of their butt so that their head isn't bopping against the front when you turn them around. Plus, maybe she would have liked it better if her head was more near my shoulder and not my chest. I've never had a backache with it, so it must have that good back support, but truthfully the straps are still confusing and it's a little cumbersome to change things around on it. It would help if the straps were labeled something like "waist" and "shoulders" instead of "1" and "2." Beyond all that, it seems safe when in and she rides like a champ. It's soft and comfortable for my daughter.
love this little baby!

this carrier is fantastic!! There is not a thing negative i can say. We are in houston where it gets HOT, and even with the carrier being black it still was not a problem. The carrier breathes very well and no sweaty baby or mommy. The lumbar support was very good as well and allowed us to be able to use the carrier longer since our backs were able to accomadate a growing infant with this feature. I would highly suggest this over the others on the market. Word of advice though. [...]
