I am a new young mother. 18 years old to be exact. My son is four months old. I first started out with the Avent bottles. Horrible. My son was very uncomfortable. So i've heard a lot about the Dr. Brown bottles. I have other family members who use these and they're absolutely amazing. He is way much more comfortable with these and he wont use any other type of brand. Yes, they are difficult to clean if you leave them dirty for a while. My husband and I always put them in a bucket of warm water with soap and soak them until we can wash them completely. I love them, My husband loves them, and most important of all, my son loves them! Pricing? anything for my son to make him more comfortable and happy.
Amazing!

These bottles are worth every penny in my opinion. My son was born with a cleft lip and had problems having suction, but these bottles were the only ones that had a good flow for him and helped with the gas. The only downside to them is they take a while to wash because there is multiple parts to the bottle, but they are very much worth my son having a good feed. I bought several bottles before Dr. Brown's and none of them worked like Dr. Brown's did.. if only I would've known about them sooner! Try out these bottles, they are amazing!!

Unlike the Avent bottles, these do NOT leak. Wish we'd went with them to start with. Live and learn.

Great Bottles

These are the only bottles I have used or will use! My son just recently made the transition from breast to bottle, and it was a seamless transition with these. In fact, it seems easier for him to drink from the bottle than the breast because these bottles are so well made.
Many people complain about the parts, but it really isn't a big deal. Those parts help keep the air out of baby's tummy and I'd much rather deal with the bottle pieces than a crying, gassy child.
They are made of thick plastic and really stand up to repeated washing and sterilizing. I do recommend getting the Dr. Brown's microwave sterilizer to help keep the parts clean.

My daughter had problems with gas and I tried almost every bottle. I tried advent and playtex ventair and they didnt work for my daughter. These bottles work great it reduced her gas and she is much happier. I wish I would have used these sooner. They have two extra pieces to clean but I don't mind because they reduced my daughter's gas. The numbers can be hard to read because they are clear. If you have problems with a gassy infant I would highly recommend trying these bottles.

we found a bottle that really reduces gas/colic. We used the soothie bottles no good baby swallows way too much air, Playtex drop in bottles not good bottles for diaper bag and you have to squeeze EVERY LAST BIT of air out of the bottle before you give it to baby. If you don't, baby will get air.The ones we like the best are the Dr. Browns WORTH every dime LOVE THEM EVERYONE SHOULD USE THEM

helpful for preemie babies

Comments about Dr Browns Standard Polypropylene 4 oz Bottles 3 Pack:
1) GREAT FOR PREEMIES: These bottles have been great for daughter who was born 2 months premature. The venting system helps prevent excess air from getting into her tummy. The nipple and bottle shape contours to her small mouth making it easier for her to get and maintain a good latch. She does not spill her milk like she does when we use the back up "The First Years" bottles (these aren't bad bottles, I just think they are better suited for term/older babies).

2) MANY SMALL PARTS: There are several pieces to put together so assembly can be a pain sometimes (husband and I tend to prep all the bottle for the day at one time...this tends to save those potential 3 A.M. headaches). Some of the smaller pieces can be a choking hazard for toddlers...PLEASE BE ADVISED...I do not recommend these for households with toddlers.
3) CAN BE HARD TO READ: The ounce markings on the side can be difficult to read because they are clear. My husband and I find ourselves either stooping down to read the bottles or holding them up to the kitchen light to make sure we're giving our daughter the right amount of formula. HOWEVER, I do like the fact that the bottle gives both ounces and ml/cc's units of measurements (parents of preemies tend to go by cc's because its the unit of measurement used by NICU's).
4) OVERALL OPINION: At 3-months of age my daughter still only takes 2 oz./60 cc's of milk per feeding so the smaller size bottles are much more practical for us. These are not the bottles for everyone but I love them because my daughter does not struggle with her feedings using them. That is what's most important.
