I was originally using different bottles for my daughter, but she was getting a LOT of gas bubbles and having a very difficult time passing the bubbles. Switched to Dr. Brown's bottles and it has made a huge difference. After she eats I am able to burp her and she passes the bubble with little to no effort. there are 2 more parts with these bottle then there are on other bottles, but it is not a problem. I would rather take an extra minute to wash 2 more small parts, then have to spend 20 minutes listening to my daughter cry in pain with gas bubbles. The bottles have not leaked, and the measurements are part of the bottle (not just painted on) so they are easy to read and do not disappear after multiple washings.

I originally purchased Dr. Brown's bottle because I have twins (boy and girl) and my son has a cleft lip and palate. Many parents of cleft babies utilize Dr. Brown's bottles with a special valve from Pigeon Co Imported from Japan that just happens to have to same dimensions in the nipple opening. These bottles worked wonders for my son and allow him to feed, and the plus is the venting reduces gas significantly.

I went ahead and spent the money on this bottle to try it out because my daughter is gassy. She uses playtex ventaire (the old ones that work better than the new ones) and those help her but they are starting to get foggy which is super gross. Anyways i tried a dr. brown's bottle with her and it is her new best friend! The straw thing and rubber vent somehow work perfectly to create a no-vacuum bottle, so the milk is always flowing out, its not waiting for some air bubbles to come out first like with other bottles, which means less air is swallowed. some people say this bottle leaks but the only time mine has leaked was when i didnt screw the ring on tight enough. I think these are worth the little extra money, they are far more advanced than other bottles out there. the only thing is i wish they had an angled bottle-neck, like the playtex ventaires so you could feed baby more upright, but oh well, they are still great.

I had read reviews for all of the different bottles out there, but Dr. Brown's seemed like one of the best. After using the Dr. Brown's bottles with my newborn son, I can tell you that they are definitely worth buying! However, in order to like these bottles you will need to be prepared for a few things.
1) The bottle rings are meant specifically for Dr. Brown's bottles. If you try to use them to fasten a nipple onto other bottles, they will leak.
2) There are extra parts to clean, but the bottles work wonders in keeping out air bubbles! I had read a couple reviews about the inserts getting moldy - this WILL NOT happen if you clean them like you are supposed to! Each pack of bottles comes with a special bottle brush that will fit into the inserts. If you use the bottle brush in the inserts with hot soapy water, you will not get mold.
3) In order to keep the air bubbles out, you cannot shake up formula in the bottle - you must stir formula in a separate container and then pour it into the bottle. I did get lazy at one point and tried shaking the formula up in the bottle - there were too many air bubbles and my son would spit up every time. You have to prepare the formula as suggested for the bottles to keep the air out.
4) You cannot microwave the inserts, so that may make preparing bottles ahead of time more difficult for people who like to microwave their bottles (even though that's not recommended for any type of bottle).
NOTE: the above statements are not meant to be "bad" things - they are meant to prepare you to make a decision on what type of bottle you should get. If the above things sound like too much of a hassle, you will probably not like these bottles.
Pros:
1) These bottles keep air out when used correctly. 2) They are made in the U.S.A!!
3) BPA free & shown to help keep vitamins intact, & reduce fussiness due to gas.
Another thing I have learned is to buy the 8 oz bottles right away - you can u

As a mother to two boys with GERD, these bottles have been a lifesaver. My husband actually bought these bottles first, and I thought he was an idiot. Once my first son switched to these bottles, he stopped spitting up so much. I have used these from the start with my second. They may be a bit of a hassle to clean, but it sure beats washing the piles of laundry my first accumulated before he started on these bottles.

I am a nursing mother and was terrified about introducing bottles to my son for daycare. I was told by my son's pediatrician to try these bottles if I was worried about gas problems. We tried them and have never gone to anything else. He rarely spits up and has had very little gas problems. Some people say this is because he only get's breast milk but I say it is these wonderful bottles.

So, 2 years ago I got some and hated them for the million parts... This time, with my third baby, I thought I would love them, they do help with gassiness and such, but the parts just drive me crazy, they are top heavy, tip over easy and cannot see the measuring on it. I think they are made of a cheaper plastic as well compare to 2 years ago, when you could still read the measurements. Too bad.

Plan on using the Dr Browns with my second child and I will never use anything else
