My girls have been using the Dr. Brown bottles since they were 2 months. We had to start putting oatmeal with their milk as they kept throwing up. We used to just slit the nipples with a knife but then I started purchasing these and boy, are they helpful! When we opened up the hole ourselves, the nipples would just wear out so quickly but these last longer AND just the right amount too.
Ok, but not great.

I really love the Dr.Brown's bottle line, but I'm not so into these nipples. They work very well, but I noticed that after a week or two of using them, they split. This made the Y cut very large and let too much milk and rice cereal out. It would come out so fast it would choke my son. Overall they are good, but if you need to use cereal with every feeding they are not the best.

I handle special needs foster children. This nipple was recomended for an infant that needed thickened feedings (1 tablespoon to every 2 ounces of milk). Organic rice cereal which gives a very thick feeding was also advised. Nipple works great till you get to the last 2 ounces at that point the incert for the bottle does not allow the thicken feeding to pass. Also nipple doesn't clean well after about four thickened feedings.

My daughter wasnt getting satisfyed with just formula so we started putting cereal in her bottles. The "y" nipples were great for her cereal bottles. Only bad thing is after a buch of uses, the nipple will collapes when she sucks on them.

these are great when adding cereal to your baby's bottle. they are cut perfect and i'm so glad Dr. Brown's bottles have different levels. when my babies were little we had to cut the nipples and it was a pain. these are wonderful compared to the old times.
Would NOT use any other bottles!!!!!

I love Dr. Browns, I got the gift set at my shower, at first I thought they would be a pain to use. But my daughter has severe reflux and colic. So I am having to add Gerber Rice Cereal to the Enfamil Gentle ease she is on, all the nipples work great, ecspecially the Y cut, I am not aware of any other company that makes a nipple for bottle feeding rice besides the Playtex drop ins and of course Dr. Browns! I did not like cutting holes in my nipples, they would either clog up or come out wayyy to fast! Would definately recommend to all my friends, already have! Thanks

I use this product to feed my daughter Enfamil Gentlease with Gerber Rice Cereal mixed in. Since the cereal makes the formula thicker, the regular nipples are too hard for my daughter to drink from. The Y cut on these nipples has made my life so much easier. I tried poking holes in other nipples, but I would either get them too big or too small. This is definitely the best product I've tried so far.

The product was ordered for an infant who required thickened liquids. The nipple she was using was having her work too hard to suckle her formula. The Dr. Brown Y cut Nipple was recommended by a feeding therapist from the Children's Hospital but it did not work for this infant - it allowed too much thickened formula through and the baby was not able to handle the flow - she had spillage and gagged as a result. It may work with thicker cereal but not with nectar thick liquids for this particular infant. The Mother reported that she had used the Dr. Brown system in the past with her other child and did not like the system due to inability to get them clean enough.

This product works great if you need to add cereal to your child's bottle for reflux. I was manually cutting the tops of the nipples prior to purchasing these nipples but they were not uniform. My child needed something consistent so that he wasn't sucking in too much air. Only use this sized nipple if you need to add one tablespoon for every ounce of formula. Any less cereal would be difficult for a baby. If you only need to add 2 teaspoons per ounce of formula, opt for the level 4 nipple. That works great too.

I started using these nipples with my reflux baby that required cereal in her bottle. I then made a morning "smoothie" with fruit and cereal when we were in a time crunch. Great nipples - never clogged and had great flow, but be careful. They tear easily. I found this out when my daughter suddenly could not handle the flow. Upon inspecting the nipple, I noticed it had torn. Keep some extra on hand, and inspect them frequently. I now hand wash them, which has also helped with the problem.
Love Them....Wish I found them earlier!

My son has severe reflux. These are great since we have to add a lot of cereal into his formula. we tried Dr. Browns early in the reflux situation. Then tried 3 other bottles and are back to Dr. B's. Then we went thru 3 different nipples before finding these Ycut ones. Sigh....[...]

I am caregiver to my 3 month old granddaughter, she has reflux and apnea I have to put cereal in her bottles could not find nipples with large enough opening and hated making holes larger myself afraid to large too small, These Y cut nipples are perfect.
