Received as a gift for our 2nd baby due in july and wasn't sure to open or not and after researching this over and over. It seems like the first model from 2009 required batteries only and no adapter. Checked FP's website and it states that it does have an outlet option now for 2010 models. Hopefully that fixes the issues parent's had. I'm keeping mine just because it's too cute and our 3 yr old daughter says her baby brother will love it too.

I am very upset after wondering why it wouldnt swing very well anymore. I change the batteries just week ago and it worked, well its now a week and I need to replace it again. My oldest is 5 and her swing had an adaptor option along with a battery option. I got this as a gift so if i knew it had no adaptor I would of never opened it and just took it back. I like the design since all my other things are precious planets.

it's like have a baby sister at home!

The swing is so cute. The swing we had before this was a fold up model that sat low on the floor by boppy, and it broke after 2 mos with my first daughter. So, we got this one, and it is a battery consumer! I change it every 2 weeks. 4 D batteries. It doesnt swing very well now that she is 17lbs, and thats when I change the batteries, which seems to help, but when she kicks, she can stop it. I just changed them a week ago, but she has a cold, so she slept in it swinging half of the night (5 hours) so I guess its time to change them again.

Great at first but motor is very poor

My little girl loves this swing. It entertains her and also puts her to sleep. She usually prefers sided to side but every now end then when she fusses, we switch the direction and that sometimes works. It was great the first month but by month 2 the motor hardly works! You can hear the motor "ticking" as it rocks it and it has gotten louder and louder and now has a light "grinding" sound. I really wish it worked better because she really enjoys being it it and it's heartbreaking that it doesn't work as well anymore. We have also burned through 2 sets of batteries and we have been using it for 3 months. I will have to invest more money to get something else for her because she really likes the motion.

I love the bright colors, the mobile, the music, and how you can change the direction of the seat. You can also recline the seat and its easy to fold up. I wish it had a charger because it eats up the batteries really fast. But my baby girl loves it.

This swing works very well in my opinion. My son loves the mobile. All the reviews say its a battery eater, but I don't feel that way. My son had a really bad cold for a week. He slept in the swing every night that week and my batteries were fine. Only problem I had is my son is a big boy and at 5 months, the swing stopped swinging cause of his weight which was 20lbs. So it doesn't work up to the 25lbs that it claims

Overall the swing is wonderful - bright colors, music, mobile. My 7 month-old son loves it. The battery expense was not something that I was counting on. It uses 4 D batteries and we're on our 5th set already. I wish it came with an adapter.

My son doesn't love this item but it's good enough to keep him busy for a little while. They have one at his daycare too and he's always asleep in it when I pick him up. I think it's decent quality. I know the ladies at his daycare love it and I know they use theirs all day. We have used ours every couple of days for 5 months now and have had no problems. I don't like the fact that when you move the seat to go front to back it tilts to the right side, I feel like my baby is going to fall out of it. It's an average swing.

I am so excited about this swing, I don't think it is too loud and it has many great features. I am a little worried about running through a lot of batteries due to some other reviews but we will see how that goes. I guess it equals out vs. running up my electricity bill. The music is cute, it swings really well and the colors are vibrant and fun to look at. Very adorable.

I got it in my babyshower but is not worth the money!!!
It only good for a little while then is dangerous if your child is very active like mine.It moves when he try to get the animals in the mobile. Also is your baby was born above 8 pounds since you only can use until 25 pounds.

this swing is the biggest piece of junk ever!! i have had 2 motors replaced and the thing STILL doesn't work! my son weighs 17lbs and it says it can swing up to a 25lb baby... i change the batteries and it still doesn't work. i feel like fisher price needs to be paying me for having to manually swing it myself... ugh... i could go on and on! it only gets one star and that is ONLY because my son is in love with the mobile...

This swing is horrible. First of all the legs lift up when she swings and when you swing it facing front its lop sided. Second of all you have to push it to start it or nothing would happen. Third the batteries run out so fast.

If you purchase this swing, you will have to buy batteries everyother day (unless you have rechargable). I like how your baby can swing from side to side, or front to back. Otherwise, I would not recommend this product to anyone!

This swing is wonderful! I use it for my 4 month old son and it hasn't let me down at all. I only just changed the batteries a couple of weeks ago, so I went a good 3+ months on the same batteries, and that's even with using the swing every day for about 20 minutes or more. I don't understand why people say it 'runs through batteries'. Yeah, maybe if you run it all day and all night, every day! And as for the swing not swinging, it does so just fine. I highly recommend it!

This swing is a nightmare. It worked for only a few weeks, my son is two months old and I have already called the manufacturer and had them send me a new motor because it doesn't swing at all..they were very helpful and got the motor out right away, but when my husband reassembled the swing with the new motor IT STILL DID NOT WORK!!! There is simply a problem with this model. Do not make the mistake of buying it.
