I did a lot of research on swings before deciding on this one. As a matter of fact I decided on this one before you could find it anywhere! I love that it has an AC Adapter. I have yet yo find another swing that you can plug into an outlet. The motor is quiet, the music is sooting and the seat is confortable. My son LOVES it. He has loved it since the day we brough him home from the hospital. The mobile swing around a little as the swing moves, and it's plenty to get my son talkin! He will coo and talk to his bug "friends" hanging above him. This is worth every penny. We have removed the seat a few times and it is SO easy to take on and off. I thought it would be much more difficult than it was.

Great item b/c it's a 2 in 1. It's a cradle swing that rocks side to side or front to back and also an infant seat. I love this item...
Different from all other cradle swings

Comments about Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing:
With our baby not born yet, I can't say how (s)he likes it. However, knowing how our old cradle swing was for our other 2 children, now 12 and 6, I think this is the best swing on the market today. So, this swing doesn't have an electic mobile. Our old one didn't have a mobile, stationary or electric, and neither of our children seemed to mind that. It did have a small toy bar attached to a tray that they enjoyed playing with once they were a little older, but I feel that can be easily mimicked by cliping on a toy bar that's made for a car seat attachment. The one thing I notice about this swing over others available is that the construction of the seat is designed like a hammock, instead of a cloth covered plasice seat. I can only imagine how much more comfortable that would be. And, the songs it plays are just beautiful. I think if you are disappointed with this swing, you'll be disappointed with any swing.
She's been sleeping in it for two months

After 3 days of colic when she was two weeks old, I read Happiest Baby on the Block and have lived by Karp's methods. One he suggested was to have them sleep in a swing to keep them calm and asleep. Key word - SLEEP. This is a good thing. The swing is so comfortable for her and reclines to be totally flat so it's really like a bed. The fact it plugs in is a savior considering I haven't turned the thing off for about 2 months! The only thing I will say is there is really only about 1 speed to the swing and it's been just fine. She also likes to look at the little bugs that fly above her when she wakes up. Worth every penny for one less tired new mom. I will say that I think by 3 or 4 months she may be too long for it, but hopefully we're sleeping in the crib by then. Oh, one tip - when you lay them down and then need to turn on the swing, start swinging it manually and when it is on the left side turn the swing on to avoid a "click" sound that otherwise may wake them up. I sound desperate don't I? :)
Great but expensive swing

We bought this swing as a replacement for the Grace Lovin Hug that we returned for our 1 mo. old son. It was very easy to assemble. It looked like it took up a lot of room online, but once set up it fits into our smallish living room just fine. It's really no more bulky than other swings. The controls are easy and the motor is much more quiet that the other swing. The inside of the seat (that touches baby) is so very soft and comfortable.
We use the swing only for naps and to put to sleep at night, so the mobile that doesn't do anything doesn't bother me at all. The deciding factor for buying this swing vs a few others we looked at was the AC adapter. I like the normal colors vs the bright baby-ish colors of some other swings. I like the fact that it can swing cradle style or conventional back-and-forth, but my baby didn't seem to like the cradle position. Just his personal quirk, I guess.
I do feel that it is pretty expensive for a swing. I found a decent deal on it, but it was still more than I was originally wanting to pay for a swing. After the meltdown of our first swing after only about a week, my husband and I were willing to pay a bit more, however.
I do like how easy the seat pops out to take baby with you to another room. We tend to set the car seat in the kitchen so baby can be with us while we eat, so this will come in useful.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the high price. Otherwise, it's perfection.

was so excited to buy this; very easy to put together. LOVE the gender friendly colors. love that it can swing vertical and horz. here is my BIG complaint. the notise the motor makes! it's a swish swish click, swish swish click. my little guy was 10 lbs now he is about 13 and same noise, even on the lowest speed. in the middle of the night - it's so annoying.
Nice Swing but boring mobile

Nice swing, Beautiful songs, Very easy to assembly...
That said, the mobile is very boring...When I read the reviews,I did not appreciate this comment but now I understand. We also have the cradle swing by Fisher Price in our other floor in the house and our daughter seems to fall asleep alone on that one...While I put her into this one, I need to stand by her to swing the mobile until she falls asleep.

I love this swing because it is gender neutral and not too cutesy. I have gotten so many complements on it...I just hope baby loves it as much as I do!

Comments about Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing:
Pros, the colors blend into my eco friendly house. You hardly notice the baby at all. The music is so zen, you can play it during dinner parties and wine tastings. Con: the mobile does not provide any additional functions; however, this allows time for my baby to concentrate on his breathing.
Loving this swing so far!

Comments about Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing:
We just got this swing this week, but so far so good. My son is already a month old and I got this only bc he hated the bouncer that we had before. I needed something that would allow for me to put him down while he was awake so that I could get things done, and he loves it so far! The songs are great, a good variety. I like how the swing goes side to side and front to back. It was pretty easy to assemble. I usually leave the assembling to my husband, but I was actually able to put this together myself! I LOVE how it plugs into the wall, but there is also a compartment for batteries if you can't be by an outlet. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this swing. The only con is the boring mobile.
Broken Motor Within 2 Months

Comments about Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing:
We were so excited to use this beautiful swing, and will say that some of the pros were: it plugs in, so no need for batteries; it has nice music and nature noises that baby liked; and it swung both from side to side and front to back. Unfortunately, two major cons outweighed the pros: 1) the motor stopped working yesterday, and my little boy is only 2 1/2 months old!, and 2) the mobile doesn't move by itself or do anything, and my little guy would stare and stare at that thing as if he was willing to move, but to no avail. To keep him interested I had to continually walk by and spin the dumb thing. We are getting a refund from FP b/c of the broken motor, and plan to get a swing with an exciting mobile, as the baby is now very interested in those sorts of things. I would not recommend this swing other than for the looks.
Best Purchase Ever

-My newborn loves this swing, he likes the way it cradles him and the soothing sounds.
-It is a lot quieter than the other swings tha we have researched.
-It has a very trendy design and complements my house perfect so we dont mind leaving it out
-Love that you can lift the seat off to move around from room to room, it comes in handy when he is sleeping and I need to go in another room
-the mobile i am not too sure about yet, would have preferred a mirror or automatic mobile tp stimulate him better
Very pretty swing but needs more 4 baby

Comments about Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing:
I love that the swing plugs into the wall and the wood accents are very nice. It comes out of the swing and can be used as a infant chair, all very nice but...the mobile doesn't light up or move independently, making it kinda boring for baby. Once I walk away after spinning the mobile for my 3 month old he begins to cry because he has nothing to look at. I find myself adding more exciting toys onto the mobile to keep his attention.
beautiful swing

Comments about Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing:
I had read other reviews of this product that cautioned that the assembly was going to be difficult... it wasn't. The "warning" sticker on the leg of the seat is best positioned in the back so that it isn't such a prominent feature, the "back" is where the little strap comes out of the base. I'm not due for another 10 weeks, but I've sat beside the swing listening to it's songs, very soothing. This swing looks great in our family room, definitely a plus. I can't wait for the little one to use it.
