Bulky and Hard to Fold

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
My husband was attracted to this product because of the organic cotton. I did not know very much about pack n plays and I thought this one was cute so I agreed to get it. I am very disappointed in this product. From the name pack n play I expect a pack n play to be easy to pack up and travel friendly. This pack n play is VERY heavy. It does not fit through door ways and in our experience it is hard to fold up. We would never travel with this item. It does work well if you plan to just set it up and leave it in one location. Be aware it is a very large pack n play and takes up a lot of room. I wish I had done more research and gone with a different pack n play.
Warning: Not 100% Organic

I gave this 3 stars because it seems like a good playard if you're NOT concerned with this item being 100% organic. I purchased this playard and quickly found out that the mattress pad is made from polyurethane and vinyl. To me, that defeats the whole purpose of something claiming to be organic. Only the linens are organic. Just a heads up.
Fulfilled my expectations

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
This was purchased for child #4 but is my first play yard, so I can't compare it to others. I purchased it for its organic material content. It's more attractive than I expected and much easier to assemmble than many other reviewers suggested. ( I did it in a little over an hour, with no help) Its heaviness seems to be a sign of sturdiness, and I was suprised by the stability of the changing table. The fit of the bassinet bumper is a bit off, but it only compromises the appearance, not the safety. [...] If you're worried about toxins, buy it in advance so that the polyester and plastic can off-gas, since the whole thing is obviously NOT organic. The canopy is flimsy, but it fits well and seems to work fine. it seems like a great product!

I wanted this item so bad, and my mom had read bad reviews on it so she was very hesitant to buy it. I wanted it so bad so she bought it for me anyway, although she didn't want too. I loved it so much that I TOLD EVERYONE!! 2 people I know bought them. Now, after using it only twice, the third time we used it it won't even close. We were using it correctly putting it up and taking it down the correct way and I am extremely disapointed.Lots of money spent on something I could only use twice.

my baby slept in the bassinet part until she was 3 months we kept her in our bedroom. the weight limit for the bassinet is only 15lbs so my daugher has outgrown it already but she can still use the changing table that until 22lbs. fabric is very soft. great set up we will be using it for years to come!great because it can grow with you baby!

I dont find this any different to set up/break down from all other play yards. you take the mattress out and press buttons on each side and it folds right up and fits perfectly in the bag! we only used the changing station a few times, but we did use the attachment to hold the wipes and diapers a lot. the bowed legs give it a different stylish look and it's perfect height for my son to pull up but no where near climbing out. Padding is average, i have a quilted playard sheet over it so mine is a little "fluffier". nice and roomy for my son to crawl around and play, we love it!
Very soft.

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
I purchased this because I am chemically sensitive and all the other brands use chemicals on their pack n plays. The bedding is incredibily soft and I had no problem putting it together. It is wide so moving it through a doorway is not going to happen and it is a little heavy but I do not travel so it does not bother me. The baby is due any day so I have not actually used it yet but so far I am very happy with this product.
Very disappointed

This was a nightmare putting together. It's too heavy, bulky and too hard to take down and put back up for it to be portable. I now leave it at my mothers as a regular crib when we visit. I never even used the changing table. The bassinet part was nice though.
Nightmare to set up!!!!

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
My husband is a general contractor/ recreational mechanic and I have been building my own furniture for over 18 years. Trust me! This was a nightmare to put together. We started off setting it up together to celebrate the coming first baby. After cursing and yelling at each other I ended up setting it up myself and it took a couple hours!
Now that it is together it is softer and much cuter than any other bassinet/playpen I looked at. It is too big to fit through a door so hopefully after the fabric stretches it will become easier to disassemble and reassemble or the portability of this unit becomes void. I will write another review if my opinion changes.
mommy & baby both love it!

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
I purchased two of these for my babies mainly because I needed a bassinet for them to sleep in when they were newborns so they could sleep in the same room as me. I could easily fit two babies in each. There is a shade that pulls down so if the TV is on or any lights it wouldn't bother baby as much. My newborns were 10pound, two 8pound & 1 7pound baby that all seem to fit on the changing station & they still do so it seems very sturdy. Very lovely colors also. And is also neutral.
We are also a military family so i use it alot while traveling home for the holidays and visits. Not as easy to travel with, but after a couple times you become a pro.
Love the bassinet high max-weight limit!

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
Not sure where the "difficult to put together" reviews are coming from. I had no problems, even while pregnant with twins late in my 3rd trimester. I love this bassinet because it's larger than all the rest, meaning your playpen after the bassinet is outgrown is going to be nice & big! In fact, I use it as a ball pit for my now 18-month-old toddlers, who are in the 98th %ile for height, they love it because they can stretch out in it & have lots of room to play. Also, because the weight limit in the bassinet is higher than any Pack n Play, you'll be able to use it for longer (if, for example, you have a large baby or twins). The raised changing table is a perfect height for me at 5'5"; the lower ones on some Pack n Plays hurt my back. The only negatives I can think of are that 1) because this bassinet is larger than most, you have to buy the sheet specifically for this if you want a backup, but it's not expensive just sometimes hard to find. [...] so you could just order one at the same time as ordering this playard. 2), the music/white noise box is very tinny sounding. My girls like it now that they're 18 months, to carry around & play with, but as babies it was more distracting than soothing. Otherwise, I love this playard as both a playard and bassinet. I like that the materials are organic, too!
Not Sure..

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
We used this play yard with my son and unfortunately are stuck with it through my daughter, because we can't afford to buy another. As a pack 'n play, I don't have issue with it. As a bassinet, well that's another thing.
The clamp that keeps the bassinet on actually ripped off at the seam when I was taking the bassinet off to wash once, and I'm not super mom or anything. When it hadn't yet torn (as well as after we sewed it up), the part of the bassinet that folds over the top sides will NOT stay put, even with every attachment on there to keep it down. It really needs some snaps on the outside to keep the flaps from riding up and over into the bassinet.
Another thing is that the mattress is slightly smaller than every other play yard mattress, which means the sheets are one inch smaller each way. So you can't just buy the 27" by 39" sheets sold everywhere in any brand. You have to use this company's one style of 26" by 38" sheets to get the tight fit that is recommended for your baby's safe sleeping. This wouldn't be such a big deal if the sheets weren't twice the price as other brands. And really, 1 style? Yawn. At least it is gender neutral and not ugly.
There are parts of the assembly and disassembly that are especially more annoying than other pack n plays I've used at friends' or relatives' houses, but I guess it's going to be one thing or another with a product that has so many uses and attachments. The diaper changer is particularly weird and never seems quite right, even after dissecting the instructions and 14 months of trial and error... But it is at a great height for someone who suffers any serious back pain.
What merely annoys me about this play yard is that the advertising really plays on the fact that SOME of this product is made from organic cotton. However, consider that the large majority of this product is some type of polyester or plastic like every other play yard, except that it'

When we first got this as a shower gift it was great! We used it everyday in our living room for our new baby, it was easy to set up too. We have traveled with it many times since we have bought it. Then the last couple of times it had taken forever to set up and we realized that the locking piece under the base was broken. We always opened and set it up the same way and our baby only used it for sleeping. So how it broke is beyond me and I wouldn't recommend this crib because of that.

If you can read, you can put this together. My child has used this playard for the past ten months. She is very rough on it, and I've had no problems. I've also traveled with this on more than one occasion and was perfectly fine. I've heard other reviews saying it was bulky and heavy for travel, but what isn't? It's really not bad. I'd rather have a heavy, sturdy playard then a flimsy one to hold my child.
Just OK...

Positives - travels well; nice neutral color/pattern; sturdy.
Negatives - the changing table attachment is for very small babies. My daughter was hanging off the end of it by 6 months old. The tray that clips on underneath the changing table, that holds the diapers, etc, falls off constantly. It is really annoying.

I'm not sure why people have had issues putting this together. If you follow the included directions, it's very easy. My husband put it together in less than 20 minutes, took it apart and put it away in about 5 minutes. It is beautiful, gender neutral, and sturdy. Some people have mentioned problems with sagging of the mattress or the mattress being hard. For us the mattress is very sturdy and it isn't plush, but you don't want that for babies. It works just fine. Now I did add a waterproof playard pad made by the same company. I do agree that the wipes don't fit in the designated spot, but I have a little caddy for all that anyway. One feature I do like that other playards I've owned didn't have is that when it's packed up in the carrier, the wheels stick out so you can roll it behind you.
Great product!!

Works fine if you don't plan on traveling around. I just have it set up in the house as a permanent fixture. Don't try to set it up without reading directions - but it didn't take me forever either as others have said. Some people just aren't good at putting things together. Unlike the graco, the changing table attachment does not lean to the side when you put the baby in. I put a box of wipes in the insert and it was fine - a bag doesn't fit as well. I actually attached velcro to the bottom of the wipes box so it would stay put. It is very cute and would go for either gender - one of the main reasons why I bought it.

I just got this product today. It was a gift and was shipped to me. I was excited when I got it and started setting it up right away. so far its hard to put up. The curved tube/bars for the bassinet part that it came with seemed too long to fit in the spot it was suppose to fit. I had a hard time getting them to popped in. when I was trying to pop in the second one, my hand was on the fabric when I pushed down and the fabric ripped! so the fabric seems too soft that it rips too easily. only had it less than a day and it ripped already. I haven't set up the rest of it yet. called the company to replace the part, but I might have send the whole product back then they can send me another one. I only have 4 weeks left before my baby comes so hopefully I can get my new bassinet part or a whole new product before my baby comes!!

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
After reading most comments, I decided to invest. Like others, I am impressed with the beauty of this product. I'm not a big organic person but this happen to fit my style!! The material is sooo soft and cushiony!! It was not that hard to assemble to me. The directions were straight forward. It is true that is does not fit through standard doorways so assemble it in the room that you want it in. Thats probably the only con. It is a bit oversized, which I don't mind, but if you're looking for something compact this probably isn't the product for you, most unfortunately. You do have to remove accessories before breaking down or collapsing. The size and cumbersomeness is the only con but it is worth it to me. Very sturdy!! My 2 1/2 year old laid in the bassinet part and it held him up fine. Would recommend this item.

Comments about Natures Purest Playard Hug Me:
This item serves it's purpose for us as we use it as a portable crib when traveling and our baby sleeps well in it, however, it is very heavy and bulky. It also is very temperamental when setting it up. Most of the times, you need two people to set it up. Think twice before you have a child that just wants to go to sleep and doesn't understand why it is taking so long to set his/her bed up, it calls for major melt down. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

After reading the reviews of this playard, I almost didn't purchase it. However, my children all have allergies so I went ahead. I have owned 5 playards over the past 13 years and this was the easiest and best built I have ever owned! I have children ages 10, 8 & 8, and recently became a foster mother to a newborn. I timed myself and I was able to fully assemble the playard, swing and high chair in 20 minutes!! If you read the instructions FIRST, it is a piece of cake. I have washed the liner, canopy and bassinet already - no problems. The knit fabric is a dream. For all of the people who wrote that is is bulky, hard to put together or over priced - your didn't do your research and you have clearly never owned an older version!! Buy this!!
