not worth the hype, baby liked bjorn

wanted to like the sling. my friend highly recommended a sling and although i already bought a baby bjorn, i thought it'd be nice to get a sling too. i barely used it. sure, sometimes my baby would like it and it would be useful keeping him from crying around the house, but when time came to put him down, it was a pain taking him out. you wouldn't be able to get him out without waking him up. i preferred the baby bjorn--but even that was so-so. i just hand-carried. sigh.
Cute but tricky to use

I originally got a sling because my sister raved about slings and how great they are to carry around your baby. After much research, I chose the Peanut Shell (mostly because they had the cutest patterns). And although it looks great (I've gotten lots of compliments when I do wear it-- I have the Bohemian chic blue paisley pattern), I'm not sure my baby (1 month old) is comfortable or safe in it. She will fall asleep while in it, but the fact that her chin is scrunched up against her chest really freaks me out and I'm constantly adjusting her and pulling her more upright. Even with the "receiving blanket" trick the DVD shows you, she is still way down in the bottom of the sling, and I can barely see her little face. It scares me that she can't breathe, so I spend most of the time checking on her. It does wear extremely tight against both mom and baby, but I prefer this because then the baby is more secure in the sling. Just don't wear it over a bulky sweater...
All in all, a great idea in theory, but I found it difficult to execute comfortably and safely. My baby doesn't hate it, but she still prefers the Baby Bjorn, which I've found to be much easier to use. I don't regret buying it though, because I'm sure it will get easier the older she gets and with more practice.
NOT COMFORTABLE!!!!

I watched the dvd, but no matter how hard or what I tried my son hates it. I also don't feel like it's holding him in correctly or safely enough. It never would of worked to nurse while he was in the sling- there wasn't even any room for him to move. He seemed really crunched up. Oh, and it was very tricky (yes, even after watching it beforehand on dvd) to get him in and out of the carrier.
The sling is cute, and may be built for smaller newborns/infants, plus smaller chested nursing moms.
Like it, don't love it...yet

I first tried this sling when my baby was a few weeks old, but I was so freaked out about the warning to not let his chin rest on his chest so as to cut of the air supply, that I decided to stop trying it. I never got the hang of it - getting him positioned right, knowing for sure if the fit was ok, and he just didn't seem comfortable....but now my son is 4 1/2 months, and he is big enough to do the "kangaroo" position. So far, so good. I'm still not totally confident that he is 100% secure, so I always feel like I need to keep a hand on his butt, but he is happy when he is all bunched up against me and facing outwards. It is easy enough to fold up to fit into the diaper bag, and without any complicated rings or folding. It also looks great/is super cute and I like that it's reversible (I actually have the 'Flor Cafe' pattern, which I didn't see on this website). I haven't tried any other slings out there, but for now, this one is just fine.
My daughter loves it.

Slings can be complicated, but I registered for this one because it's durable and fashionable. My six-week-old daughter likes to sleep in it when she wants to be close to mom, and it allows me to work around the house and on the computer hands-free! It also works very well in public -- we walked around an entire museum together with the peanut shell. I recommend watching the instructional DVD because I otherwise would not have used it properly.

I had been looking online at different slings and finally went into the store to actually try them out with my three week old. After trying a couple others, both my baby and I liked this one best. He falls asleep soon after I start walking with him in it! It is very easy to put on, get the baby in, and get them out. It is also very handy as I have a three year old to run after as well. I love wearing this out shopping too as it leaves two free hands. I agree the price is high but we used gift cards from our shower. =) Probably would not have bought it if it came out of my own pocket.
Price Is Too High!

Bought this as a gift. It's useful, no question, but the price? Ridiculous for a piece of fabric that folds up small enough to fit in a little flat box. I'm underwhelmed.
Great idea but awful for larger breasts

I was so excited about getting one of these, I had heard good things about slings. I bought one and oh boy was I disappointed. I put it on and could barely get my premature baby who is just barely now 5 lbs into it. When I did get her into it, she was so scrunched up and her chin was buried into her chest. It took both my husband and I to get her out of it. I have large breasts and this thing was just not made for women with larger breasts apparently. I am so disappointed, especially after spending [$] on this item. I would not recommend it to anyone who has over a size D breasts or a larger frame. Too bad Peanut Shell didn't take into consideration different body types when they made this item.
