Infant Car Seats

Purchasing an infant car seat is a tough task.So before your baby comes home from the hospital you must have decided about the car seat as it is something you must have due to the law also. The first step is to carry out intensive research so as to determine the characteristics of an infant appropriate seat. The seat needs to fit the child. Before purchasing a baby seat, you must also look out for the weight and height limits. This is because some may come with lower weight or height limits. It should also have a stay-in car base which assures the parents that their child will really be safe in the car.The canopy should allow the infant to rest his head and be comfortable, and at the same time be supported.

The Best Infant Car Seat Ever Created!!

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
This is the best infant car seat ever created!! My baby fits perfectly in it and the base fits securely in our car. My friends have another brand which will not be mentioned (it is a very popular brand) but their car seat flops all over the place. They have taken it to our local police department to see if it is properly installed in their car and it was but the base just doesn't fit securely like the Peg Perego does. I also have the Peg Perego high chair which is very nice and will last forever. Peg Perego is worth the money spent because it will last through all of our children. They make a sturdy product.

Not meant for compact sedans

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
This seat might exceed the saftey requirement, but if you drive a compact sedan like a '04 Nissan Sentra. This is not the seat for you. It will not fit safely. If you have an SUV or full size sedan with a bench seat, and/or don't car if you kid is not n the middle seat. You will probably love it. Nice Expensive seat are meant for nice Expensive cars.

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
I used the older version of the Peg Perego with my first DD and upgraded to the 30/30 model for my twins. I've only just moved my twins out of this seat into convertibles at 11.5 months of age, 23 pounds and 30 inches. They outgrew it by length and I'm moving them because they have reached the height limit but they still ride perfectly comfortably in it. For people who are complaining that babies + Bundle Mes barely fit, Bundle Mes or bulky coats are a hazard and put your babies at risk. Put a blanket over the baby and buy one of those "shower-cap" type covers that goes over (but not in) the seat. This seat is easy to adjust, comfortable, easy to remove/click back in and safe. The recline looks less than other seats because of the padding/SIP wings but ALL infant seats are reclined to 45 degrees. I never had any problems with head slumping after my kids learnt to hold their heads up - at about 6 weeks. The only complaint I have is that the buckle does turn around on the strap easily and can be difficult to get back to normal.

Excellent Seat.

Just got this car seat for my son due in November. However, I have used Peg Perego before as a nanny and am using this seat for my 8 month old daughter. It may be heavy but thats to be expected in a seat made for SAFETY. It was either this seat or the Britax infant seat. I ended up with this one because Britax wasn't available at my time of purchase. I had Graco infant seats for my previous children and this is by far a much better investment. You can't put a price on the safety of your kids!

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
I have just finished using the the perego seat on my second daughter, both of my daughters are on the big side and it has provided plenty of room for them to grow. As a nanny I can tell you that ALL infant seats are heavy...if they weren't made of the hard heavy plastic they wuld crush in an accident... I can also tell you that you aren't supposed to use things luike bundle mes and coats when yiour children are in car seats...these cause gaps between the child and the belts...and in the event of a crash your baby could slip out! put a hat on him or her and cover with a warm blanket! Also, all seats must recline at a 45 degree angle, its standard, for safety as well.

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
We bought this car seat because of its safety rating - BAD MOVE!!! As soon as we put our newborn in the seat, the plastic clip that clips across the chest BROKE and we had to call the company for a new one....not to mention that its just WAY TOOOOO heavy! Unbelievable! We are now expecting our second child and will be purchasing a new infant seat.

Bulky

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
The car seat is very expensive, and my baby always screams when we put him on it. He seems to be very tight, and it is also too upright. The black cushion material on the top to protect his head is very rough my mom made me a cover because on top of it he seemed very hot and sweaty. Although Peg Perego stroller is excellent and we wanted to match it with the car seat.

Sturdy but not practical

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
Way to heavy especially with a growing infant. Very hard to maneuver if you're short. Both sides need to be pushed in on each side at the same time in order to move the handle and its hard getting out of the base. Although once you snap it into the stroller it's great. However, I have some concerns of my son fitting in it until he's 30lbs as he's just 13 and already getting tight for him-which is extremely annoying because of how expensive this is.

Heavy, Very bulky...

Comments about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30 30 Infant Car Seat Oltremare:
I think overall this is a good, safe car seat. However, it is very heavy and it takes two hands for me to carry it. The built in head supports are great, but they are bulky and my 5 week old son who only weighs 10.8 lbs barely fits in it with the bundle me inside. He seems to like it, but without my bugaboo stroller base to clip the car seat into, which I keep in my car at all times, I don't think I could lug this one around on my own!
