my son had colic horribly untill he was 6 weeks old so when i stopped nurseing he needed a bottle that would help prevent that, so i sent my boyfriend to the store to get another brand and he accidentally picked these up and im so glad he did. helps with gas 100%. he didnt even need to be burped most of the time. and my son loves that theres no suction. no leaking if put together carefully numbers are still on after 6 months and doesnt leak into cap while shakeing. these bottles are perfect

I have never written a review before, but I feel so strongly about this, I had too.
DO NOT BUY THESE!! Yes the numbers came off and they leak!! Everyone of them that I have bought (at $5 per bottle)!! It wasn't just a bad batch!! I've had problems with all of them.
My child is now a year old and not ready to give up his night time bottle. So now I have to switch bottles and nipples all together. He's not going to be happy, but I cannot take these leaky bottles anymore!!

I didn't understand exactly what these bottle did until I started using them. When babies suck on regular bottles, they create a pressure vacuum in the bottle that they have to fight or release the bottle to allow air to equalize the pressure. These bottle eliminate this problem and they are WONDERFUL!!! My sister started out using another brand of bottle, but quickly switched to this one after she used one of mine. I have been using these for almost 9 mths and not one has leaked yet. They do take a little longer to assemble because the bottoms come off too, but they are definitely worth the extra minute.

I rebought Playtex brand bottles for my second son because they worked very well for my first. But after less than a month of use, the measurement markings for ml and oz washed away... have to measure in a my breastmilk storage bottles first to know how much the babysitter is feeding him. I remarked with a permanant marker and that washed away too. Very disappointed.

I love this bottles! I always heard good reviews about these before I even got pregnant and really wanted to try them since I had colic when I was a baby. I have had them for 7 months and they are still wonderful! We wash them in super hot water (boiled water) and the oz. lines have yet to come off (which I hear is a problem with some people and these). They still look new. They are SUPER hygienic because every piece comes off to be washed which I like a lot. The only complaint I have is that I can not find replacement bottom rubbers which would be real handy because I have cats that tend to carry them off and tear them up.

I love these bottles! My newborn would easily adapt from breast to this standard nipple. He never experienced colic or became too gassy. You do have to be careful when you put the bottles back together after washing them or you will get leaks. The whole back part comes off which is great for cleaning, but just be careful to screw on the back properly. The curved neck makes it easy to get every last drop out. These bottles can also be attached directly to the Lasinolh breast pump, so you can pump directly into these bottles.

I used these bottles for my first two, now with another one on the way i am planning on using these bottles again. Other bottles were always too hard to clean or the nipple would sink in while trying to feed them or the nipples would leak. These are the perfect bottles!

I did not like these bottles because they defeat their own purpose. In order to feed baby using the vent system you have to of course make the bottle first but then you have to turn the bottle upside down to unscrew the bottom and remove the rubber piece inside and then screw the bottom piece that has the holes in it back onto the bottle. While you're doing all this the milk is dripping out of the nipple. Even if you place the cap over the nipple it still spills into the cap. And remeber, once you turn the bottle upside down you cannot turn it back right side up or all the milk will spill out of the hole in the bottom. Taking care of baby is enough work. These bottles are just a headache to use and are very messy. Not a good product and are too exspensive for the fact that they dont work.

I have been using the old standard playtex ventaires with my daughter, which are perfect. I bought one of these advanced ones a couple weeks ago and it works just the same expect for one thing. After about 60 seconds my daughter will stop sucking and i have to pull the nipple out of her mouth to release the bubbles out of the nipple so she can get more milk out. It's weird and I dont understand it. My friend has this same bottle and hers doesnt do that. So maybe this one is just defective or something? other than that, its a great buy, and who knows maybe im the only one with that problem but it happens every time and she cries. It actually takes her way longer to eat because I have to keep releasing the air bubbles. I think playtex should have stuck with the old Playtex Ventaire Standard bottles because they were perfect. It's a shame they dont make them anymore.

These are great for reducing colic, don't melt in the microwave sterilizer like some bottles do, and my son has no problem latching on. The only problem I have is the bottom of the bottle leaking at times even though it is screwed on tightly and the plastic thing inside is properly inserted. The leaking pretty much wrecked my bottle warmer, and this has happened with my oldest son too!

My mom got these for me before my son (now 3 months old) was born. He's my first child, so I had no clue what kind of bottles to get and her friend that runs a day care recommended these. At first, I thought that it would be a pain to have to wash all the pieces, but it's not. With Dr. Brown's bottles, there's all kinds of little holes that you can't get into to clean, not even with a nipple brush - Not to mention the tube. These are actually easier to clean than normal bottles because the bottom comes off. They vent air just as well as Dr. Brown's, if not better and they're 10 times easier to clean! These bottles are a must have for new moms!

I had an aunt who bought thesee with my first daughter in 2007. I used them until she was almost a year old and then just bought new nipples for her sister in late 2008. They didnt start leaking until mid 2009. After all that sterilizing and use the numbers didnt wear off and it took forever to finally give out. I would recommend these to everyone!!

we rebought these bottles BPA free because we used them in 2006 w our first daughter and they kept the colic-like symptoms away so it was a no brainer - so we thought! here we are, our 2nd daughter not even 4 months old, and these bottles leak like crazy out of the bottom of the bottle! the valves in the bottom need to be replaced after only 3 months of use! we have 20-25 bottles and i am not willing to buy new valves to replace them all, just to have to replace them again in 3 months from now! these bottles are great while they last, but they start leaking and it's all down hill and does not make it worth the money. steer clear and choose another bottle....we are on the hunt for a new set of bottles!

I switched to these bottles after using a much more complicated system. Helped enormously with spitting up, they were easier to assemble and easier to clean. I ended up no longer needing them before they wore out, although I did replace the nipples a few times.

I have tried all the bottles that are out their practically, The cheap 2.00 ones, the glass ones and even Dr.Brown's bottles, but these are really the best! They are MUCH easier to clean than the Dr. Brown's bottles becuase you don't have to clean out a straw with a pipecleaner every time. I have use this bottle type since my son was born in july and haven't had to replace any of mine. The numbers are still there (i handwash mine) and i have never had an issue with them leaking. Just make sure you assemble them correctly b4 you use them. I recomment these over the others. From experience.

I bought 15 of these bottles when my newborn daughter was having difficulty with the playtex nurser system. While these bottles are great at venting air if you premix your formula, they are terrible at keeping the bubbles if you mix in the bottle. I bought these on 12/7/09 and already called playtex about them leaking. I will be sending them the bottles I have in return for coupons to get more. I will go back to using the drop-in nurser as I don't want to deal with the leaking! Another note: my daughter spit up more with these bottles because she was gulping instead of taking her time.

I was a new mom and tried all different brands and types of bottles, I found that these worked the best. You just do not have the air bubbles when using these bottles. If you are worried about the gas these are the bottles for you. The angle helps to make sure your baby does not suck in the air. The only downside I had with these were if I did not put the bottom on right it would leak(did not happen often only when we were in a big hurry to put them together). That was a small price to pay considering these bottles do not give your baby the air which can give them gas pains.

My son LOVED these bottles from birth. The nipples and cap were very comfortable for him. I liked the curvature of the bottle and the vent through the bottle, as I was seeking a bottle that would reduce gas. Unfortunately, after a couple months, these bottles starting leaking. You HAVE to remove the plastic part from the bottom cap to clean these bottles, otherwise they will leave an old residue from milk underneath, causing this to contaminate new milk when used again. But....after taking the part out to clean, the suction is never the same, and they leaked every time. My daycare lady was as frustrated as me trying to get the part on just right so they wouldn't leak. I spent WEEKS buying all different kinds of bottles that my baby boy would like. FINALLY....the Playtex Drop-Ins worked wonderfully!!! You only have to wash the nipple/cap - no more washing bottles and pulling out plastic parts to clean! You just throw the bag away! And.....they are most like breast-feeding. If you're interested in gas reduction, you can squeeze every ounce of air from the bag before you feed your baby. Trust me, eventually these bottles will leak. I had three boxes of them (9 bottles total), and there wasn't one that didn't.

We love these bottles! Our daughter is four months and these are our bottles of choice. She has little gas and spit-up. Our bottles have never leaked. When we have to travel, I go ahead and fill them with water and just mix the formula at feeding time, and we've never had a leaking issue. I hand wash the bottles and all parts after each feeding. Once a week I run the bottles and plastic parts through the dishwasher and boil the nipple and bottom seal. After four months, all of the markings are still on there with no sign of chipping. These are excellent bottles and the only ones we will use with future children as well!

Playtex has fixed the problem with the numbers washing off. I bought 6 bottles, (a 4 pack from Walmart and 2 others elsewhere) and 2 of them lost their numbers within a month. I called Playtex and they sent me coupons to buy 2 new ones for free. The bottles that are fine were made 11/08, (it says this on each bottle.) I assume the other 2 were made earlier. If your numbers have washed off, call Playtex! I have used these for over 4 months and have never had leaking problems. When water drips from them, it's from water getting between the base and bottle when I fill it so it only drips a bit.

I haven't had these bottles long enough to know if they will start leaking or if the numbers will wear off but I really don't care! Before these bottles I had tried everything for my newborn and she would scream from gas and spit up after every feeding. I've been using these for 2 days and last night was the first night we actually got some sleep in my house! I will be buying more of these definately!

i love these bottles, i had these with my older children. the new design is better than before cause you can only put the air pieces in one way. we have only had a leaking problem once and that was because the vent part wasnt put in correctly (was in a hurry)...they are easy to put together and are a great design. the numbers have started to wear off on a few of mine (we have 15 and i think maybe 2 or 3 are coming off) but i can still see the lines and numbers. if they continue to come off then we will just use a marker or something like that. we bought these bottles knowing that was a possibility. would recommend these to everyone. LOVE them.

I wanted these bottles for my newborn, because I felt that they would be great. Unfortunately...I am very disappointed. I am disappointed for two reasons. First...they do leak. These bottles have little vent holes at the bottom for the air to escape and for some reason...I'm constantly having issues with the formula getting through these tiny little holes and leaking all over the place. And when you have a newborn screaming for a bottle...you have no time for a leaky bottle! Also...I'm disappointed in the fact that there are extra pieces to wash. The bottoms of these bottle come apart, having two separate pieces...the bottom and a clear rubber piece that fits inside of the bottom. Well...I don't know about all the other mothers, but having a newborn is alot of work and trying to find the time to wash and sterilize bottles is hard enough...let alone...having extra pieces to wash.

i love these bottles. i used the playtex drop in system for a week when my daughter was first born, but i tried these and my daughter seemed to take these better. my only problem is that the slow flow nipple keeps getting stopped up and the occasion leking from the bottom. just make sure the ring on the bottom is dry before filling bottle. i have not had any problems with the writting on the outside and i have only washed these by hand.

I thought these bottles were very effective at venting and reducing colic and gas. I also love that they are BPA free. I don't know how one reviewer determined that they do have BPA in them... also, I never had any problems with them leaking or the numbers rubbing off and have used them in both the dishwasher and bottle warmer. It's hard to imagine others having such bad experiences when I've had nothing but good experiences. We tried many bottles with our first before we settled on these. We will be buying only these with our second.
