Safety 1st
When it comes to baby, safety always comes first. Keeping baby out of harm's way, however, is easier said than done, since there are so many threats to his safety all around him, which is why it is a good thing there are products like those offered by Safety 1st. Indeed, Safety 1st is best known for its baby safety products, including its classic 'Baby on Board' sign and its childproofing devices, which help ensure your baby's safety right at home. We offer a wide range of Safety 1st products for your needs. We have Safety 1st bed rails, safety gates, latches, locks and plug covers to childproof your home, as well as Safety 1st baby monitors to help you keep track of your baby's safety even while he sleeps. We have Safety 1st grooming kits, potty chairs and bathtubs, too, along with playards, swings, walkers, step stools, high chairs, strollers and car seats.

Convertible Car Seats

After your baby is born, you will need a rear-facing infant car seat to bring him home from the hospital. Once he reaches a weight of twenty pounds, though, which is usually after his first birthday, he may be ready for a bigger, forward-facing car seat or a booster car seat. Buying another car seat, however, can prove to be expensive, which is why convertible car seats are popular. We offer convertible car seats from top baby gear companies, all of which can be converted from infant to booster car seats with ease. While there are different designs to choose from so you can find something that your child will really find it fun to sit in, all are made of high quality materials, ensuring the safety and comfort of your child throughout his early travels.

Comments about Safety 1st All in One Convertible Car Seat Salt and Pepper:
Very nice car seat, very nice looking and very durible! Instructions are not very easy to follow, so set up is a little time consuming. And i still went and had a police officer do a check~! Rear facing is a little tough to get the straps pulled tight, but a very good seat to have!!

We just bought this car seat for our 8 month old to replace a chicco rear-facing seat. We're using it front facing and it didn't take us too long to set it up, I haven't tried it rear-facing. It seems comfortable and pretty secure. I'm pretty satisfied with it so far. However I would suggest you check your local Walmart before you buy it online, we just bought it and it was only 99.50 at our store. Online right now it's listed at $130, check your store first! Overall great product so far.

Comments about Safety 1st All in One Convertible Car Seat Salt and Pepper:
I love this car seat. My son has used his for well over two years now and I'm looking into buying another one for my daughter who is 5 months. it is so easy to use and fits tightly into our car (Chevy Equinox). I read a lot of other reviews saying that it's not tight and difficult to install, but I did not have that problem at all. I found the latch system very easy and rear facing was no problem for my son.

Comments about Safety 1st All in One Convertible Car Seat Salt and Pepper:
I picked this up at Walmart after reading all the reviews and compared other high end bands to Safety 1st, and there wasn't that much of a difference. This car seat can be a little challenging to set up; You have to be patient with the set up, once you figure out how this system works, it goes smoothly. I recommend bringing the car seat into your house having your child sit in it so you do all the harness adjustments ahead of time then installing it into your car. It has all the features I was looking for; rear facing for 35 lb, with the option of forward facing after, updated seat belt harness, reclines, able to move the harness straps as your child grows. I love the fabric and looks/fits well in my 4Runner. Best price compared to others offering the same features! My little one didn't want to stop playing with it and now likes getting into his car seat because he doesn't feel so confined as he did with his infant car seat now that he's gotten so big:-)

We bought this car seat for my husband's truck which luckily isn't the primary car. I thought it looked nice at the store and loved the side impact test. We didn't have any trouble when it was rear facing but now that it is forward facing...I don't care for it! Everytime my son falls asleep in this seat.....his poor head falls forward and to the side. It makes me cringe to the point that I am looking at other car seats for my husband's truck. I would get the same car seat that is in my SUV but it is a little bulkier but at least that one has a little more curve to the sides so he has something to rest his head against as opposed to it 'bobbing' around in this one. Just my advice but hope other mom's out there take this into consideration when buying.

My daughter who is now 8 months loves this new car seat. She sits up well in it when it reclined back. Took about 25 minutes to install. The strap covers are nice and keep her head up when she falls asleep. No real compliants about this car seat. It is also easy to adjust the straps with the front push button and easy to adjust the recliner... Would buy again, great price and comfy...

This carseat is amazing for the price. What a great deal! I love it, and it is so comfortable for my little guy. It is a little difficult to install rear-facing, but I know it is installed securely. Also, it only goes to 80 pounds instead of 100, but for the price I don't think there is a better deal! We love it!

This was purchased for our grandson. my husband put it in for me. It took him about 45 min. to finish, as there's alot of instruction. It's very sturdy, & being a 3 in 1, We won't have to purchase another one as he grows. we used Site to Store, as it was cheaper to buy it online, plus no postage to pay.

Comments about Safety 1st All in One Convertible Car Seat Salt and Pepper:
We had an infant carrier for the first few months for our baby but he grew so fast that it wasn't long before he was over the weight limit (only 23 pounds) luckily we had received this one as a gift... but I hate it. First of all, the base doesn't rotate enough, and with a younger baby you have to have it tilted. Every car's backseat has a slope and this was apparently not made with that in mind. It has an indicator line on the seat to show you when it's level. The only way I can get it even close is to put towels under the seat to level it. This, along with the fact that it is a pain to install. You have to pull the seatbelt through the under part of the seat and also, the infant head support has no way of adjusting it to fit taller babies, so we had to take it out. It is the absolute worst design I've ever seen. Spend the little bit of extra money because it is definitely worth it.

This is an awesome car seat. I bought it for my daughter when she out grew her infant seat. She loves it and I love it! Its a little difficult to recline if you have it buckled in too tight. Im thinking about getting another one for my son due in a few month. The seat is a little wide if you have two kids in car seats. Easy to set up an take off to be cleaned. If you need a car seat this one is great!!!!

We chose this seat for our 11 month old son, so that he can use it rear facing until he is old and big enough to use forward facing. If he falls asleep his head does roll forward, but I haven't hear of one rear facing convertible that doesn't have that issue! It's just a month before we can turn him! We still use the older model of the same seat for our 2 1/2 yr old daughter. She loves it!

Durability don't know much as only have had for 1 month. Two of these close together in back of suv is a tight fit but these seemed smaller that others we looked at. The price online was good but I was really annoyed because we 1st bought in store for more that $30 more each so returned & re-bought online. both out 9mo old seem to fit good rearfacing. It would be nice if there was a way to support bottoms to get angle just right. I has to but towel under fronts.

My son who was asleep in the backseat was n ot harmed at all! This car seat never moved and did it's job. It was easy adjust the straps and recline. Was very easy to clean. We will be buying another one. It will be the only car seat we would recommend.

We bought this carseat for our 2nd car. Our other carseat is also Safety 1st brand and glad we went with the same brand--they get installed the same way so I didn't have to try to figure it all out twice! Overall we are happy with this carseat--nice neutral color and not a busy pattern. Seems safe and was fairly easy to install. Priced right. My only complaints are that 1) it barely fits in the back of our Saturn (although that might be the case with any carseat) and 2) shipping to our home was messed up (not walmart's fault though and they were very good about trying to remedy the situation--should have had it shipped to the store directly instead).

My sister in law picked out this product and has no kids of her own.. I just now started to use the product my daughter is 4 months old. It is horrible to put in the car. I have two other kids and have never had so much trouble putting in a seat until now. I am seriously thinking about purchasing another seat so I never have to take it out of the car for when I wish to drive the other car I have. It was horrible to get in.. Would not recommend if you have two cars and have to move it a great deal.

I spent weeks trying to figure out which convertible to get for my growing baby and when inside a store, found this brand and model and loved it. I went online to check prices at other stores and found it at WalMart for only $120 - about $20-30 less than other stores! I used ship-to-store so didn't have to pay for shipping. **I read many reviews online too and a lot of people had problems with the base on the seat not fitting in their cars. We found this out too - BUT the manual (ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL) says that you can remove the base for narrow car seats and airline seats.** When I removed the base, it installed perfectly! It is a nice big seat and my baby, who didn't like her infant seat at all, doesn't fight us to get into this one! I think she likes sitting up higher! I LOVE the colors of this seat (salt and pepper design) and its very comfy! It also will allow my girl to ride rear-facing until she is 35 pounds! There are very little seats out there that do this and I intend on keeping her rear-facing for as long as possible. She is very tall for her age - 11 months - and fits this seat so well! It looks like it was made for her and our car. Her head does bob forward when she falls asleep - unless her sister places her hand on the side of her head when she is falling asleep and then it stays up just fine. All convertible seats will do this though - its the angle and the higher back that causes it. TIP: to keep the seat front up where it needed to be, we took the headrest off the back of the middle seat the carseat sits on and put it under the front of the seat and it is perfectly level and doesn't move one bit. Hope this all helps...

This carseat is hard to set up, in my 04 Stratus it fits best in the middle, with a towel rolled up to balance. Besides being difficult it is a nice car seat my daughter seems to be very comfortable in it. I plan on keeping her rar-facing until she gets to heavy for it and then will use the toddler seat until she's 50 lbs.

I bought this carseat for my grandson who is growing faster and bigger than his brother did. He is 7 mos. and wearing 12-18 mos. clothes so could no longer fit into his infant seat comfortably. This carseat is a great transition seat from infant to toddler. It can be used rear-facing (now) or forward-facing (later) and reclines in 3 positions. It's easy to adjust and hook up in the car. While it is a bit wider than some carseats, it still works out great.

i got this carseat for my son. the carseat is great! installation was a little hard at first but once you figure it out it takes not time at all. (im only 17 so its pretty easy to climb around to put it in). its pretty big, i drive a 2007 chevy eqiunox and it takes up quite a bit of space leaving a backseat passenger enough room to be comfortable but feel a little akward. its rear facing now but when turned around its really not that big. my son at 8 n a half months (20 lbs and 27 in.) isnt a fan of carseats at all but putting him in (even during a fit) takes no takes no time. the straps adjust very easily by pulling a bar in the back and sliding up or down. the buckle between his legs doesnt meet up with his diaper so i use a burp rag and fold it up. it cleans up very easily and the headrest doesnt exactly hold his head in place when he falls asleep so i just use his old one. there are a few things that arent perfect but it will last a long time so i cant complain. overall its a great product and very affordable. ive already recommended it to a few people.

Comments about Safety 1st All in One Convertible Car Seat Salt and Pepper:
So we bought this seat in anticipation of the birth of our son in November, it was a really good deal and we decided to go for it.
We got it home, took it out of the little bag it came in and were trying to install it in our car... Well there was no instruction manual. We searched the bag, looked at all of the little cards attached to it and found nothing, so we had NO idea how to install it. My husband was able to figure it out without the manual based on the little stickers attached to it. I went onto the Safety 1st site to order a manual and saw something about the base being removable, which is good, because rear-facing this car seat blocked my entire back window, but once the base is out, it is much better!
When we removed the base, we were "playing" with the straps, seeing how they tightened and loosened and how to adjust the back of it and I noticed underneath the seat that the little tightening straps were getting caught on something. So I pulled on it and... it was the manual! If the base was not removed and we were not looking at the bottom of this seat, we would never have seen it! With the manual we were able to see how to use the latch system in the car, which is so much easier to install! Its kind of a pain in the butt to thread the latch underneath the seat, and it was really hard to install it using our seat belt in our car, you have to shove it under the bottom pad on the seat... Really confusing. But once we got past that, it seems really secure in there and cushy :) I am sure once our little guy is here, he will love it

Comments about Safety 1st All in One Convertible Car Seat Salt and Pepper:
Do not buy this product! This car seat was purchased by my gandmother and given to me as a shower gift. I was so excited because the label said that it held children from 5 -100 pounds. When I got it home I found out it had the wrong label and it only supported up to 80 pounds. I was going to keep the car seat. When installing it we could not get it tight enough with the latch system. I took it to get it insepcted and the cop said it was the most difficult car seat he had ever encountered. Once it was installed correctly, using a shoulder belt, it was IMPOSSIBLE to adjust the child restraint with it installed rear facing. This car seat was nothing but problem after problem. Thank God I still had enough time to return the car seat. I took the car seat back and exchanged it for an infant seat and a booster seat that supported 20-100 pounds and my grandmother actually got some money back. I would not recommend this car seat to anyone. I bet the people that work at Safety First wouldn't even use this car seat.

Excellent product. I bought this chair for my 2 1/2 year old because she needed something new. I let her sit in several car seats and this car seat was the most comfortable for her. She is very tiny and needs lots of padding on her bottom to prevent pressure points from aching after long trips. I had no trouble installing the seat. It was easy. I also love the fact that the harnesses and buckle have padding on them. Overall a great product.

My son did not like this car seat! At first, I thought maybe it was because it was new... WRONG!!! This is the most inconvenient car seat I have ever seen! Very very hard to setup for rear facing... the straps are just ridiculous!!! Very hard to loosen straps when it's pushed up against the back on the seat! My son cried when I would go to put him in it.. he loves to go places, just not in this car seat! I returned it to Wal-Mart to get a refund... so back to his carrier car seat until we find a better one. He is much happier and more comfortable in the carrier car seat! I will NOT put my lil boy through that kinda of torture ever again!!

This seat is nice and cushy. Seams safe and durable. However, if you plan to use it for rear-facing child, do not bother. I purchased this seat for two features, one side empact safety and two, for the three adjustable positions of the seat. There is barely a distinquishable difference between the each positions. The chair does not recline enough for rear-seating. I had to return this chair.

I purchased this seat for my 8 month old, b/c of the look and features it has. She loves it! She seems to be very comfortable in it. The only problem I had with it was there were no instructions?! I am a first time mom so I have never had to install one of these and it was a pain...I'm not sure if the one I purchased was just missing the instructions or they just don't come with any? Either way I am overall happy with it =)

VERY GOOD!

When my 5 month out out grew his infant seat I had already started looking for a new car seat. I wanted to find one in stores so I could feel how comfy it would be for him. Half the ones I felt were hard & when i put him in them he right away wanted out. The second i put him in this one he LOVED it. It is amazing. I have an 04 Honda Civic & it fits perfectly in the back leat. It was a little hard to install but nothing major. His head falls forward when the car seat is up stright while he sleeps, which is a down side. But all in all i am in love with it & would tell any mom to get it :)

So far a great seat!!

We just bought this seat and got it installed after spending a good hour inspecting it at the store. We drive a 2 door pickup with a backseat and I wanted to make sure it was going to fit so I borrowed a tape measure and measured every possible thing I could think of and compared it to the Comfort Sport which is our other seat. The Comfort Sport didn't really fit well in our truck and was a pain to install, we had it propped for a recline and still couldn't get our son's head to stay up when he fell asleep. It did not take us long at all to install this seat and once it was installed (no props) it would not move even 1/8th of an inch, fits perfectly with room to spare and is reclined perfectly for our 4 1/2 month old. I am so happy with my purchase thus far and right now only face having to buy a high back booster that turns into a normal booster once our son outgrows the Comfort Sport. I would highly recommend this seat, it has a very nice appearance and seems to be extremely durable.

We were actually going to get the other seat that goes to 100 pounds but we figured if our baby needed a seat still at 80 pounds we would just buy a booster. This more than meets our expectations. My daughter is very tall like her daddy and she is not even 1 yet. We had a graco seat before this and we couldn't have her rear facing in it due to her length. She was cramped and cried the whole time she was in it. We had no problem installing this rear facing in the back of my car. We completely read the whole manual and followed each step just like illustrated. We also had our fire department double check the installation. I have a 4 door 2004 Chevy Malibu sedan and it installed like a dream. She is now rear facing and she is not cramped and doesn't cry. So now I feel like she is not only safe and comfortable, but is happy. Perfect. We are buying 1 more for my husband's truck. I would definately recommend this product.

VERY hard to set up for rear facing. Had to take base off, wouldn't fit in 4 door car (Pontiac G6). LATCH system would not tighten enough, very unsecure and wobbly. Does not recline enough for an infant that can't hold their head up.

Nice Features, Holds them to 50lbs!

I researched convertible car seats for a long time before making a decision to buy this one. I searched several websites and actually ended up making my purchase at my local store. This car seat actually holds children in the forward facing position with the harness until they are 50 lbs, which is a feature I wanted to have after reading others reviews. I'm not sure if the info just got posted wrong on Wal-Mart's website or what because the Safety 1st website also says it goes up to 50 lbs. It also holds them as a booster seat without the harness until they are 80 lbs. The car seat is also side impact tested which is a great safety feature. I love the features on this car seat. The 3 position recline, removable base, up front harness adjustment and head rest adjustment are all what sold me. I have had one small problem with adjusting the harness while the car seat is in the rear facing position because the seat sits so close to my cars seat that I have a hard time loosening and tightening the harness which does pose a bit of a problem since some days my son needs a jacket and other days he doesn't. I have only been using this car seat for about a week so I'm sure I'll get used to the harness adjustment and find a way to make it work. We did have to remove the base to put the car seat in the rear facing position so that it would recline enough for him to be able to rest without his head falling forward. We also had to roll up a few towels to put under the car seat so that it was at the right angle. It took my husband under 30 minutes to install the seat and the only reason it even took that long was because he read the entire owners manual to be sure he was doing it right. The car seat seems to be working great for us in the rear facing position and it does not seem to bulky for my car and I drive a 4 door car. So far my son really likes his new big boy car seat. He likes the padded head rest and the fact that he sits up higher and can see out the window better. The
