Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
We've used the rear facing option. Car rides have once again become pleasant experiences. It's now obvious to us that Jules wasn't too happy with her former infant seat. She falls asleep many times without so much as a peep now. All the adjustments are smooth & relatively easy to maneuver (we test drove those features well before & after purchase). The padding is substantial. The fabric is soft & has cleaned up nicely so far.

I Love this car seat, its great for long rides that we take or going across town. It has alot of great features like not having to take out the straps to adjust them, and that it reclines. The only bad thing I have to say is that it is quit large,I barely got it to fit in my car. Overall very nice and worth the price.

Daughter is almost 11 months old and growing out of her baby seat so we had to buy a convertible seat. Chose this because of safety and ease of use. Installation for rear facing is a little difficult but the seat is so easy to use and install. Daughter loves it.

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
I decided to place this on my baby registry based on the on-line description. First thing you should know is that it is on a NON-detachable base which means you must move the entire seat from car to car or get a second seat for your 2nd car. Although the BRU site says there is a compatible base, there is NOT. Second, it is way too large rear-facing to fit in a smaller vehicle. It does not fit rear-facing in my 2010 Mazda3. I wish I would have checked it before throwing away the box. Fortunately it fits in my husband's Mazda Tribute as a rear-facing seat. I was initially thrilled that this seat converted because I wouldn't need to buy another seat but unfortunately now we need a second seat to fit in my car. Otherwise, it seems like it's well made and the fabric is very nice.

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
*I bought this as a second car seat and ended using it as my primary seat for my daughter!!!

*Aside from looking great cosmetically, the performance it great also. I thought that I would have unbuckled the chair to recline it and I don't! The chair doesn't need to be pulled apart to adjust the harness (top or bottom buckles!!!)

*The seat cushions (cloth cover) come off easy and are replaced just as easily!!! Which is a huge plus if you have every had the joy of trying to clean a car seat or stroller that does not come apart easily!

* The only downside is its size. I have read many reviews that say rear facing is a nightmare and it doesn't fit in small cars. But I have GMC Jimmy which is a small sized SUV and I have the seat facing forward. There seems to be plenty of space left for me to have my chair all the way back as well as for others passengers next to her. All in all, the sixe is no problem for me and I like the fact that it is spacious and my daughter is comfortable!

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
This seat was very easy to recline and has a wonderfully soft cover. I promised myself I would never buy another carseat that didn't recline enough for my poor kids neck not to be all kinked up when they fell asleep. This reclines so much and is so comfortable, unlike all the rest I found on display. I gladly paid more money for this one, my baby's comfort is well worth the extra money. You know a carseat is comfortable if your baby's head is not pushed forward higher than his body and when you push on the cushions they feel even and springy, not like a thin pad on a hard piece of plastic. Put lots of thought into your purchase, your baby will feel the difference.

This is an amazing car seat. being able to use it till they dont need to be in a booster saves so much money. The only problem we have found with it is that it does not fit rear facing in a super compact car (we have a Chevy Aveo) It was very much worth the money. The only time I will ever buy another car seat is when I get one for our other car.

I haven't used this carseat personally, but my mom and 2 daughters was in an accident a week ago where a semi truck hit them going 50mph. My mom was killed and my 12yr old daughter had a 3% chance of surviving and is doing better. My 4yr old was in a Safety 1st Carseat and only had a small burn type mark on her neck from the carseat strap and a small bruise where the top harness caught her and nothing else. They said her carseat was amazing and it didn't even break. I will never buy another carseat but Safety 1st

We just got this car seat yesterday, as soon as we got it home I adjusted the straps and put my 10 month old in it to make sure it was adjusted right, and she loved it! She was feeling all around and playing with the straps. I put it in the car this morning it was easy to set up rear facing with the latches, I did have to put a towel under it to make it level. The only complaint I have of it, is that it is hard to get it to recline. Other than that it is a great car seat so far! We are going out today for a test run!

We put our 8 month old daughter in this out of an infant car seat and it was ownderful. Our older daughter was actually in one at only a couple of monthes old. Well worth the price because you can use it for so many years! It really does grow with your children, its awsome. I will never buy another infant or booster seat again. Oh yes and I love the new patterns. I wish it was a little smaller (our kids are thin and it is wide, but its ok) and it is kind of a pain to clean but thne again all carseats are!

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
This car seat is huge! I have a jeep liberty and in order to have this seat rear-facing we had to push the passenger seat all the way up, which means no one can ride up there with me. I'm sure it would be fine when it is forward facing but my daughter isn't tall enough. It was also kind of hard to install. Even with the car seat sitting on a flat table it still wasn't level. I really didn't like the idea of putting towels under it (like I read online) so I took it to our car seat safety installation place. He used pool noodles cut up and taped together. He said you can use towels but these seem to work better. She does seem to like it but we are taking the car seat back. It just isn't feasible for us to use it because she still has about 3 inches to go to turn forward.

I love this car seat and im so glad i bought it for my daughter. Being a first time mother it was difficult picking out the best car seat, but this one had all the right stuff. The only thing i hated was trying to put it in the car so she can sit in it instead of the infant one she loves it she can see more and look around. It was a pain in the butt, putting it in the car tho, it was very very difficult other than that its perfect. I love it and best of all she loves it.

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
I just bought this carseat today, so my daughter has not ridden in it in the car. However, our Toys R Us is being remodeled, so they had all the seats sitting on tables and I snuck her in it. She fits perfectly. She is a very petite 8 month old, but her feet were starting to hang over in her bucket seat. I love how this seat was totally assembled, all I had to do was pull it out of the box, briefly read the directions, and take it out to the car. Installation was not difficult for me, just make sure you loosen the latch belt far enough. I have an '08 Dodge Avenger and I had to adjust the passenger seat minimally to get the car seat reclined to where I wanted it. Can't wait to see what she thinks in the morning! :)

I absolutely love this seat! I got this right before my daughter turned 1, it has worked out perfectly. I have a Toyota Yaris and it fits to a T in my back seat, something that I was truly concerned with since my car is 4 doors but small. Even my daughter loves it, as soon as we installed it we went for a drive and she knocked out right away!

Could be easier to install facing forward, I didnt feel it was as secure facing the back seat. Luckly our daughter was right at that age and weight to face her forward.
not real easy to move back and forth between cars, so it stays in my car.
Our daughter loved this seat, comfortable, secure, safe, doesnt get as hot on the buckles in the Texas summer sun, She sleeps comfortably in it on long trips.

I was a little concerned about the fabric choice this time (bought online without seeing it first), but I like it. It is nice to have some color other than the basic black and gray and my daughter really likes it.

We bought this seat for our 7 month old because she is about to out grow the infant carseat. We put it rear facing in my Husbands Chevy 1500 with the extended cab (which is small in the first place). But it fits in great right between the 2 front seats. Our Daughter loves it, she can see out the windows and is safe at the same time!

We got this carseat for our daughter when she was 9 months old. She was a fussy car rider in her infant seat and when we switched to this one rear facing she was so much happier.

The seat is much softer, and has nice cushioning. It also reclines to a comfortable position for her instead of squishing her stomach.

The seat goes in and out of the car easily, but washing it is a HUGE pain. You have to completely disassemble all the straps and buckles just to take the cover off.

I have had this product for a a couple of months and have some concerns about the rear facing set up. I have a small cross over vehicle and a mid size SUV. The seat takes up a large amount of room (rear facing). My largest concern is that both vehicles have bucket stile seats and will not allow the product to tilt back far enough for the baby to sit safely.
I will wright a review later for the forward facing features at a later date.

I have a 2-door Ponitac Sunfire, and I was looking for a Convertible carseat for my daughter, who is 4 months old, she was getting SO heavy for her infant carrier, that would fit GREAT in my car. It's pretty easy to install, and it's not so bulky like the others i was looking at. It fits great in my car, even rearfacing, and i dont have to move my seats up at all so close to the dash, i didnt even move my seats. My daughter likes that she can look around more, and see things other than the sides of her carseat. The only thing i dont really like, although her head sometimes did it in her infant carrier, is when she sleeps her head goes down...but the strappads and the infant inserts do a pretty good job and not letting her head go too far. Although i cant wait to turn it around, but id feel that way about any rear-facing convertible car seat..lol.

I ordered this car seat after reading lots of reviews, and did not know for sure if I was picking the right one or not, because of different reviews. I opened the box the seat came in and instantly liked it. This seat has more padding than any car seat I have seen! It is comfortable, reclines, the straps hook easily, its pretty, my daughter loves the seat. It is much heavier than other seats, but also better made. I bought it to use only as a front facing seat, so it fits just fine in my Durango, but rear facing could get frustrating. I really like this seat, I have 4 kids ( ages 1, 7, 10, 13) and throughout the years car seats have really changed, and this is the best one I have owned. I am not looking forward to taking it apart and cleaning it if it needs done though, that may take some time.lol

I installed this car seat the minute I received it. It was a little too big in my Toyota Camry. Which I should have read in a recent review. I also had a problem with the straps and felt they didn't tighten very easy. My friend purchased this seat for her one year old but it just didn't work for me. I returned it and purchase a seat that fits better in my Camry.

I LOVE this seat. It seems so soft and comfortable. Latch was easier to install than on our infant seat, and fit perfectly into our Toyota Highlander rear facing. Only dislike is that I can tell my daughter will outgrow it by the time it can be used for a booster, and many ratings say that it does not work well for a booster. Oh well, we have YEARS for that!

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
I liked the design and colors and the safety ratings for this car seat and wanted to get another car seat for my 9 month old who was growing out of her infant carrier...the problem is that it just doesn't fit in an average size or smaller car in rear facing position. My front passenger seat is very far forward and upright so if I can not have a large passenger. Since I don't usually carry passengers I'm making due for the next 6-9 months while I will keep her rear facing. I went on a long car trip 18 hours and used it forward facing for my son in a Ford Truck...we did have issues with installing it level in his truck but overall he was comfortable and it was roomy, liked having a cup holder and likes that eventually it will serve as a booster although I plan on keeping the kids harnessed for many years to come. The other thing that is very nice is that you can easily adjust the back so that you don't have to rethread the straps as I was able to go from infant to preschooler easily....Still I think the design is too big on the bottom footprint so that when you level it parrallel like it says in the RR position it makes it sit too far back on the seat pressed against the back of the front passenger seat so that you must move the passenger seat to far forward.....I would say this seat works best for a child over 2 years old forward facing. My other car seats have been Britax and I have no complaints about them. I was looking for one that could be used later as a booster and a little less expensive since I have two kids now.. I need another car seat and will probably get the one like this in black for my son for forward facing since he tried his sister's out and he liked it... I had to recline him for the long car trip, however, so his head wouldn't keep falling forward when he slept but he did fall asleep in the seat for the long trip forward facing.

I love this carseat! I have it in another girly pattern. Bought this for my daughter when she was about a year old. I wish it reclined more for her at the time but it wasn't such a big deal because she was older. However I would not recommend this carseat, or any other convertible for that matter, for a small infant. They just aren't as safe or recline as much as needed for a small babe. Anyway, I absolutely love it, with my now 2 1/2 year old daughter! She fits great and is big for her age weighing 35 pounds, it's very comfortable and easy to install and clean! She loves it, too! I plan to buy another for my son when he's about a year old.

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
We bought this seat for our 4 month old for my husband's Durango. In order to install this at the proper rear-facing angle, the front seats would have to be slid too far forward to sit in. We found this too inconvenient to install as a rear-facing seat and decided to return it. It would be a very nice seat for a forward facing seat... not to bulky and very easy to install against the seat, but we wanted a seat that would work for our baby from rear facing until booster seat stage.

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
I was undecided between the air protect and the Alpha Omega. When we went into the store, I let my daughter sit in both. Since she is small for her age, she just wasn't tall enough to reach the Air Protect head portion. She loved sitting in the Alpha Omega. I really liked the fabric, it looked comfortable and study and well made. It was a keeper! Since one of the features of this seat is that it allows your child to remain rear facing up to 35 lbs, that is how I planned to install it. In the rear facing position the seat requires you to recline the seat quite a bit so that a mark on the seat is parallel with the floor of your car. The seat was reclined so far that it made my front seats unusable and I wasn't even near lining up the mark. Even in the middle position, it did not fit. Since I loved the seat so much I figured I'd leave her in her infant carrier till she reached the 22lb forward facing mark and use it as a forward facing seat. I sat and read through the manual and just to see how it fit, decided to try it forward facing since I had it in the car already. Then I read that forward facing the child has to be 22lbs AND 34 inches tall. She won't hit that height requirement for quite some time so it made the seat unsafe for her. The seat moved all over the place no matter how tight I made the belt. Further reading the manual, I also discovered that if you are not using the LATCH system and using seat belts for installation, you should also use the top tether. It was unclear whether the tether was required or just an extra precaution, but given how the seat rocked all over, I'm guessing that its a requirement. My car is not tether equipped. So, its back to the store for this one

We bought this car seat because my daughter was getting heavy and with my bad back I couldn't carry her in her infant seat anymore, so we bought this one because it stays in the car. The only issue that I had with the seat was getting it to sit right in my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan with captains seats in the second row, when it was rear facing, we had to move the front passenger seat forward in order to make is sit right. Now that the seat is front facing it fits perfect. I chose this seat because I won't have to buy another seat for my daughter even in Michigan where they have to be in a booster till they are 4'9" or 8 years old.

Love It!!!!!!!!!

My 9 month old was getting too big for her infant carrier. She is 20.4 pounds and nearly 28 3/4 inches long. She is very comfortable in her new car seat. I have a 05 Nissan Sentra and I am able to put it rear facing in the center seat and still have room on the passenger side for my older daughter's booster seat. I love that this is a lower priced seat with all of the features of the more expensive seats. I'm actually going to buy this same seat for my husband's car...

Ok so I researched and researched about car seats for my 14 month old daughter and I even took her into the stores with me and strapped her into them to see how well she fit into them. There were so many options available it was overwhelming at times but I am extremely safety conscious, not to mention I am a single mom and I work hard but cost was also a factor, I wanted great crash ratings, great fit and comfort as well as a great price and I found it with this seat! I have a Toyota Yaris which is a small 4 door sedan and I was also concerned with any car seat fitting into the back seat, rear-facing I could manage but I wouldnt be able to even see her with the rear view mirror extension so I ended up placing her on the passenger side forward facing which seems to be working out great! The first time she got into it for a ride to the supermarket she fell fast asleep. I like the fact that the straps are covered in soft material so if she falls asleep they wont rub into her skin and with the seat reclined a bit she lays her head back comfortably and it doesnt roll around. So far I have yet to find something I didnt like about the seat except the over all size of it but to be honest this was the smallest of the highest rated and as long as my peanut likes it and is safe I am one happy mommy!!

Comments about Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat Sara:
My husband and I installed this car seat fairly easily, but the base was too wide to lie flush with the back of the car seat in the rear facing direction. So, the car seat ended up being just a little crooked. When we placed our daughter into the seat, the harness was SOOOO hard to tighten and loosen. I felt like I was constantly tugging on the straps to either strap her in or try to get her out and I felt like I might cut her neck from pulling so hard on the straps. The straps come with those "neck protectors" or whatever they're called, but they were too fluffy that it looked like they would choke my daughter while she sat in the seat. I couldn't figure out any way to make the process of tightening and loosening the straps easier. Also, my daughter seemed to want to get out of the seat as soon as I placed her into it. It was like she hated being in it. So from that, I'm going to say it was not comfortable for her. We didn't even own the seat for a week and she might have used it 3 times before it was returned. Luckily she's less than 20 lbs so we ended up going back to her infant carrier until I bought her new one today - Graco MyRide 65 in Sonata. She loves it so far and this car seat was a breeze to install!!!

Would have been great.....

I went with my father to go pick out a convertible carseat when my 80% in height 6 month old outgrew the height requirements for her infant seat. I had gotten a [...] convertible seat but my father thought it was too cheap and the padding too thin to be safe and comfortable. So after reading ebout every seat they had at BabiesRUs we decided to get this one, we both loved the pattern, my father saying it looks and feels like "real upholstery". I was so excited I wanted to put it in the car before we left. What a DISASTER! It would not fit at all in my fathers 02' Chevy Impala. We would have had to fully straighten the front passenger seat, making it impossible for anyone to sit in. Not even with 3 store associates could we get it to fit! So needless to say, we returned it right then and got my first choice, the GracoMyRide 65; which is excellent! Its so easy to install with a belt or LATCH, and just as cushioned! This Safety First seat may be good, just not in my car.

My 7 month old daughter outgrew her infant car seat and we were looking for a convertible one that she could use up until she doesn't need a car seat anymore. After researching and looking at several models, we decided to go with this one. We love it. It is rear facing right now and was very easy to install. The pattern is adorable too! It is also very well padded and comfortable for baby. I love this car seat!

Not good for rear facing

We bought this seat today after many hours of researching and review reading. We have an 11 month old that is in an infant seat right now but she is going to exceed the height limit soon, since she was 29 inches at her 9 month appt. We want to keep her rear facing as long as possible so we thought this seat would work well for rear facing and then a forward facing seat and eventually a booster seat all for a really good price. But this seat will not fit rear facing in the back seat of my 2007 Jeep Compass without the passenger front seat pushed all the way forward and the back of the seat bent forward. Basically making it impossible for anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. So we returned the seat today. On a good note the seat seems like it would be great forward facing and it was a very cute pattern and super soft and comfy.

My daughter is 3 months old and has already outgrown her carrier comfortably, so I went on a search to find a good carseat that would be safe, last forever, and fit in my '03 Hyundai Elantra. I did tons of research and read plenty of reviews, and had decided I'd try this carseat out. I went to Babies R Us to get the "caroline" print, but they didn't have it, and I saw this and fell in love. We checked to make sure it'd fit in my car and when it did I immediately bought it. My little girl has never been happier. She loves riding around in this and seems to be very comfortable. The only complaint, which isn't even that bad is I wish the strap covers came off without taking the carseat apart. I like to wash stuff like that often, but it's really not that big of a deal.

After reading TONS of reviews on literally ALL convertible car seats and purchasing 3 different brands I thought I would never find one that fits in my SUV comfortably (06 Chevy Trailblazer) rear and front facing, that you could get tight enough, that my 9 month old looks comfortable in and that it is not hard to install. After returning the 3 car seat which was an Evenflo Symphony I was looking around in the store to see if there was possibly a 4th one that would catch my eye. The thing that caught my eye about this one was the pattern :))
The price is awesomeeeeeeeee so I purchased it in hopes that this was the last and final convertible car seat I would have to purchase for now. We immediately tried to install it in the parking lot because if it didn't fit I was going to return it right away. To my surprise it was soooooooo easy to install. It VERY easy to install. My husband pulled the strap to tighten it while I sat on the seat. Long story short, my daughter loves it, we absolutely love it and I would DEFINITELY recommend it to other parents.
