I read many reviews on car seats before I bought this one. I was trying to find a seat with a 5-point harness that went above 40lbs. I knew Britax made a seat that was for over 40lbs with a 5-point harness but I didn't want to pay $300 for a car seat.
I ended up finding the Safety 1st Apex online at Walmart.com After reading up on them both for a long time I decided to get this seat. My child is 3 years old and is very big for her age (40lbs/40inches tall). I knew she could not be trusted to stay in a booster seat with just a seat belt holding her in.
I am very impresses with this car seat. It has a double padded seat which makes the seat very comfortable. Unlike the other brands that are basically like sitting on straight plastic. There is also room for her to grow in this seat. It is also easy to install.
Overall I really like this seat and love knowing my child will be safe in it.

I bought this online for my son who will be 3 in 2 months. I am so pleased with this seat!! It is super soft and comfortable and the color scheme works well with boy or girl. I am glad to now have a carseat that will grow with my son.

I had done tons of research on harnessed booster seats with a weight limit over 40 pounds and originally bought a different one and ended up returning it because I was very unhappy with it. I was a little hesitant about ordering this one due to my previous experience, but this turned out to be a really nice seat. The fabric is very soft and seems like it will hold up well. There is the extra removable seat cushion, which makes it even more comfy:) I had read in some other reviews that the headrest is very flimsy, but in my opinion that isn't the case. Maybe that was on an older model? The straps are easy to adjust and there is still plenty of room to grow at 40 pounds and 40 inches tall. So...to make a long story short, in my opinion this is a very well made, safe seat for a great price!

I am really liking this car seat, I love that it can be used as a five point harness longer than others and bought it for that reason. Very easy to adjust and set up and my daughter loves it. My one and only complaint has nothing to do with product itself. Be warned if you use site to store, that they seem to walk the products across the country and your child may very well graduate before their car seat arrives.
