Summer Infant
Images of the bright sun and babies are thought to bring happiness to most. These inspirations are part of why a baby company would call itself Summer Infant. Not does this company believe in happy thoughts but also quality products that are practical. We carry cribs and bassinettes that provide safety and comfort. Summer Infant also carries bedding and swaddling blankets that protect baby from suffocating during sleep time. We also ensure that our line of baby gear, which includes bouncers, car seats, playards, and swings are carefully constructed.

Nursing Pillows

When nursing your baby, one of the most important things you have to get right is the position of your baby. Indeed, if your baby is not positioned properly in your arms, he might end up not getting enough milk or worse, he might end up sucking a lot of air which will make his tummy hurt later on, or may even have trouble breathing. In order to get the position right, then, it helps to have some nursing pillows. We offer nursing pillows to help you properly nurse your baby. These pillows are especially designed to be placed on your lap or in your arms, helping you position baby well. Aside from these, there are also pillows that you can put around your neck to prevent neck pains.

Not a neccessary item
3 stars
08/23/2010 by Mommy to Twin Boys, Sacramento,CA

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
We recieved as gifts and I wish I would have returned them and purchased something else, like a few more swaddle blankets. We did use these for the first 2 weeks we were home but the boys would slide down or off to the side when they got to squirming. In the end they just got to big for them too fast. They are only 7 weeks and we now just lay them flat, they actually seem to like that a bit better. It does what it says it should but its not a neccessary or even wish list type baby item. I'd forget purchasing.

May work for smaller babies

Used for my newborne. It's ok and may work better for a smaller baby. My son would slide down the incline. He was a bigger baby and moved around alot at night.

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
bought this so that my newborn wouldn't roll onto his tummy...he doesn't roll onto his tummy but he slides down the incline. we're not really using it anymore because it also retains his body heat making him very hot as he sleeps

I would not recommend this product

08/15/2010 by New mom, Ohio,

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I bought this product for my 3 week old daughter who has been suffering from reflux. There is barely an incline and she has been spitting up just as much and is just as uncomfortable as she is laying flat. I had to wash it already due to the spit up and the foam absorbs all the soap and water, and even though I rinsed it several times, it still smelled like soap. It also got misshapen in the wash. They should make it with a cover that can be washed and with more of an incline.

Disappointed

08/02/2010 by Mom to C., Savannah,GA

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
Every morning we find our daughter has slid to the bottom of this, like a slide. Her head is resting where the feet go, rendering it useless. It also pushes up her swaddler so that it covers her face. The side wedges don't stay in place very well, either. We just went back to a basic positioner. Basic but it works!

Very Poor Design
1 stars
07/12/2010 by MomE, San Jose,CA

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
This thing is very poorly designed. It's a waste of money!

The "incline" isn't really so much of an incline. It really only raised my son's head so his chin pushed into his chest. Poor thing was so uncomfortable that he pushed his head right off the top of the thing trying to get comfy. And he's only a few weeks old! So first his head would flop off the top and that would wake him up. Then his head would flop off the side and that would wake him up. He wasn't "inclined to sleep" at all on this thing!

Pass this up. Utter waste of money!

Loved This Product

07/09/2010 by Calebs Mom, Winston Salem,NC

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
We bought this product for our son when he was born. We loved it and used it every night until he hit 6 mths. and started rolling out of it (he is now 2 1/2). We are expecting a baby girl in 5 wks and I am going to buy her one too!!! The only thing I wish was that it would last to pass on. You can take the foam out and wash the cover, but the foam changes color after time. If they would upgrade that this would be 5 stars!!!

I am buying this product again!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
Even though it does fall apart after getting a lot of use, this product really helped my daughter with her reflex. Unlike other products on the market, it put my daugter at a slight incline and helped her sleep.

Worked well!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I used this for my first child, and am now ordering another for my second. The only problem is that when you wash it, it DOES get a little bent out of shape, but I was able to reshape it with little effort.

Poor, Poor Quality!
1 stars
07/04/2010 by Mom of Two Boys, Dallas,GA

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I have used the product for the past two months, and it seemed to be working well. Unfortunately, as things need a good washing, I put it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. I got it out and it was all bent/twisted. There is no way to open it up and try to reposition the foam, so I cut a small hole in the top to try, and I was still unable to reposition it correctly. The mesh fabric had practically attached itself to the foam. Needless to say, it is in the garbage now, and I am looking to buy another one!

Disappointing!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
We ordered this for our baby girl and it was very disappointing to receive. [$] for this flimsy thing? It looks like it has a fabric cover in the picture, but it doesn't. Makes cleaning it impossible. It's very thin and much smaller than it looks online. I do NOT recommend this product. Go with the crib wedge if you want an incline for your baby.

Horrible

06/28/2010 by First time mom, Pennsylvania,

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I registered for this product prior to having my babies. I tried to use it for my son while he was in a bassinet. It was horrible. The spit up stains on the wedge from the first night are evidence that it didn't work at all. To me it seems like there should be a little more elevation to the wedge. I do not recommend this product. I am returning the second one I received for my twin daughter. I never even attempted it with her, as I was too disappointed. Both children have been sleeping in bouncy seats for the last 2 months. They are now using Dex baby's universal crib wedge in their cribs and so far so good, no spitting up.

I would not suggest this product

06/27/2010 by Vania, Busy Mommy of twins + 4, Seattle,WA

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
This product did NOT meet my expectations. We purchased two of them for our new born twins. It worked out fine until I washed it! Once they were washed, we couldn't use it any more, it became twisted within its own cover and I could not fix it. It should have simply had a washable removable cover.
This product was a total waste of money.

Terrible Product!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
My last positioner was worn out after the second child used it and I needed another,so I decided to try the inclined one. It looked very cheap and not very inclined when I took it out of the box, but I decided to keep it anyway. BIG MISTAKE!! When I washed it to get it ready for the new baby, it was completely ruined!! It is now trash and I still have to buy another one!! I should have taken it back when I looked at it! Terrible product!

great for baby with reflux!
5 stars
06/06/2010 by jenaggie, texas,

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I don't know why this product got such a low star rating. We have used 2 different sleep positioners and this one has been the best. I am ordering another one for our 3rd child (can't find it from the last baby). Soft, pads move to customize your baby's position. Great for keeping your baby from sleeping directly on its back (hair loss, etc). Our babies have both had reflux and this helped. My husband built a wooden wedge to put underneath it and it made it even more effective in combatting the reflux.

05/19/2010 by Mamabear, Orange County,California

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
Do not waste your money. We put our 2nd child in this when he was swaddled in the infant swaddler and the velcro stuck to the side, unwrapped him and woke him up. He also turned over in this while swaddled and luckily cried to alert us. It is cheaply made and I would rather have rolled up 2 blankets secured with a rubber band to place on either side of my swaddled baby. He always ends up sliding out the bottom.

Would and Am Buying Again

05/07/2010 by Soon-to-be Mom of 2, Conroe,TX

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
My husband bought this a day before our son was born. He wasn't sure which positioner to get so he bought 4 different kinds and we tried them all for about two weeks each. This one was by far the best one.
I learned early on to not lay our son so far up on it because he would slide down but he did that with all of the other positioners as well. Once he got to be a little longer that problem stopped.
Washing it wasn't so easy but if I did it in the gentle cycle with his sheets and clothes then hung it up to dry, it worked just fine with no shrinking.
I had no clue that this one had the heartbeat simulator until my husband pointed it out to me. It calmed our son down just enough to be able to nurse without me having to rock him for a few minutes in the middle of the night. It also helped get him back to sleep those times that he half woke up.
We're expecting our second child soon and, since we gave ours to my sister's baby, we will definatly be getting a second one for this new one.

Infants Can Slide Off Wedge
1 stars
04/09/2010 by kls, Indianapolis,IN

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
Our infant slid down the incline during the night while swaddled. She ended up sideways with her face on the foot of the wedge. When we mentioned it, we found several friends have had the same experience. Luckily she woke herself crying, but I was terrified to think she could have ended face down while swaddled. This is too scary in light of SIDS.

Ruined when washed!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I washed this product the other day, following the instructions to a tee. I was surprised to find that there isn't a cover you can take off to wash, but thought if there were instructions to wash it, it would be fine. When I pulled it out of the washer, the inside foam was completely ruined! I am very disappointed with the product.

My daughter loves it!!

04/06/2010 by Grace's Mommy, Gap,Pa

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
When our daughter first came home from the hospital we had a really difficult time getting her to sleep in the pack-n-play. We noticed that she slept better if she was slightly more upright, as if she was being held. We got the positioner and from that night she has had no problem sleeping at night. the only problem is that we swaddle her and sometimes she wiggles herself right down to the bottom of the positioner.

04/02/2010 by Katie, Tulsa,OK

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I loved this product, cause it prevented reflux and helped my baby sleep through the night at 1 week old. She slept on her side for first two months and it kept her propped up. She slides down occasionally, but her arms don't let her go all the way. i put a blanket over the top so i don't have to worry about washing it

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I bought this after my first son was diagnosed with plagiocephaly (one side of head flat), so he was resting on a softer surface, and so we could rotate his head positioning. I'm now using it for my second son. I velcro the bumpers onto different places, to keep him safe & snug in the positioner. No problems here!

Perfect for babies with congestion!
4 stars
03/15/2010 by Baby Boy Mom, Shorewood,IL

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I used this with both my boys. They slept so well in it, that my mom and mother-in-law bought them for their houses! The ajustable sides helped my boys stay on their side to sleep and the inclined head support helped when they became congested. Be careful when cleaning it, due to the foam insert. I actually stuck a cloth diaper inside the fabric to protect the foam from spit-up/drool mishaps, once I started that, the foam stayed clean, I just changed the cloth diaper when needed.

Terrible infant sleep positioner

02/25/2010 by five towns mom, woodmere,ny

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I agree with some of the other reviews, product not what I expected. It was great for like 2 days and then noticed my 4 week old sliding down. I thought it was to prevent that. Then when it was time for me to wash it, forget about it. I was surprised to see the instructions to wash as is. No cover to take off, too good to be true. When it came out of the wash, the inside packing was ruined. Terrible product!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
This seemed like a good sleep positioner, but after following the washing instructions, the inside cushioning became all twisted (there's no way to remove the cover to straighten out the cushioning). Thinking it was a fluke, I exchanged it for the exact same style. Well, it happened again after washing!! What a hassle! Now I have to exchange it for something else. I do NOT recommend this product.

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
This product seemed like a good idea in theory. I put this item on my registry and received one. However, we went to an infant safety class last night. They informed us that these are not recommended because the baby can slide down and suffocate in the sides. Returned it today!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
This product is great. My little girl didn't like to lay flat down at the first few weeks. This helped her getting comfortable while sleeping. Now she has no problems. I also I was concern about her laying flat at first due to milk still laying around in her ear canal. Never got sick or ear infections.

Took it Everywhere with us!

01/15/2010 by Review Reader QUEEN!, Lexington,KY

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
As soon as I left the hospital, I drove straight to the store and bought it. My son had a little amniotic fluid remaining, which gave him some congestion. He needed to be inclined, so I stuck it in the bassinet. Yes, the baby will scoot down on it, and occasionally scoot up it, but you adapt. The velcro works great on it, it's adjustable and keeps the baby snug. The heart beat one is not necessary. So as far as the other reviews, it molds? um, well I covered it with a washable blanket to keep it clean because it's not exactly machine washable, it's foam! We liked it. We traveled with it and it was good for us!

Not great for an active baby. My newborn son likes to kick and move quite a bit while sleeping, this allows him to actually slide down the positioner.

Works well if you know how to use it
3 stars
01/12/2010 by kamui, irvine,ca

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
The Sleep Positioner is not the best because my baby did slide out of it every night. But, after rolling up a receiving blanket and placing it at the end of the positioner, it kept my baby from sliding off. Another thing I tried was place a receiving blanket on the positioner because it was the fabric that made my baby slide.

Not that Great!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I got this infant positioner 2 times! One for my first son and then for the second born, thinking that perhaps the first one I bought just wasn't good and maybe the second time around it would work. Well it didn't. Both of the times I had this product it stained the back where the baby lays it's head down. And the Velcro for the sides doesn't stick at all very well with the incline to sleep cushion. I always found it elsewhere in the bassinet. The second time around, I noticed that the back of the cushion was turning black as well and appeared like mold. Never fed any of my kids in the bassinet. I breast feed only. So I don't know how that got there in the first place. Also, when you try to wash the cover. It is a disaster! Trying to get the cover back on; it will never be the same. The actual cushion will be bumpy from there after.

Don't waste your money on this sleep positioner I am due next week for my 3rd child and decided on a different positioner from First Years- Air Flow. It's a bit cheaper than this one, but it has great reviews and I can't wait to try it! Good luck.

I used this with my now 3 yr old and will be buying another one for the baby I am pregnant with. I used this in my bed since I co-slept and nursed my 3 yr old. My son loved it. I love the memory foam constructing, he didn't get overheated and it was very portable. The rolls on the side are adjustable to fit the size of your infant.

It was okay for a few days, but my baby kept sliding down. For the money they are charging, this product is not worth it and cheaply made. When my baby spit up over it and I washed it, the padding inside bunched up and twisted sideways. I had to cut open the cover to fix it. How has the manufacturer not thought of putting a zipper or changable cover? Save your money!!!

THE BEST OUT THERE!

10/18/2009 by kpv's mommy!, Pembroke pines,fl

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
This product is by far the best positioner out there. We received thisproduct on our baby shower for our first son and he loved it.He has a tracheostomy so he needed to be inclined to decrease the risk of aspiration since he didnt swallow and he also had a g-tube and fundoplication for reflux. The memory foam is soft and the cover does not shrink in the washer. My son is about to be one and he still loves to sleep with theil curved positioners aigned on his back like a pillow.the only flaw is that they dont sellthe positioners without the wedge becouse those things are stained and worn out from sticking them in the washer but there sti great. The wedge still looks new since he outgrew it at 5 months and we will use it on our next due on the 26 but we'll have to buy a new one anyways touse the positioners.Ive purchased the air flow vent positioner as well as the snuggle nest and both positioners were awful.

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I bought this because my daughter had acid reflux. It worked ok for the few days. The directions say it is machine washable but once I washed it it became distorted and never returned to its proper shape. It would no longer lay flat and I ended up tossing it in the trash.

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
We got this as a baby shower gift with our first son. The only problem I have with it is that it is a pain to put the cover back on it after you wash it. I would also recommend you only use this if the baby is swaddled and can't wiggle down it. Once they are big enough to do that...they don't need this product anymore.

09/19/2009 by Kristen, Arizona,

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
I have not even had a chance to use this yet. I washed it (so it's clean for when we bring baby home), and the foam inside bunched up. I had to wrip the seam open to reach in and straighten out the foam (after fiddling with it for 20 minutes). What this thing needs is a cover that zips on and off, but that doesn't exist. So, I am taking it back and getting something else. This is HORRIBLE!!!! Don't buy it!

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
Seriously. Do not buy and if you own one already... throw it in the garbage. I've lost many hours of sleep having to reposition my sleeping baby on this wedge. He constantly slides down with his arms wedged by his face and even sometimes the "positioners" would detach from the velcro. "NOTE TO MANUFACTURER".... serious design flaw... go back to drawing board. Have a nice day.

Great Sleep Positioner

09/16/2009 by EthansMama, Ohio,

Comments about Summer Infant Inclined to Sleep Positioner:
We received this sleep positioner as a shower gift and just removing it from the package I knew it was going to be a good one. I've read some of the reviews on here and here these people are crazy, in no way is this thing rough! Its soft and even has a memory form insert that adds extra cushion. And the heart beat simulator was great! Even after he didn't fit on the positioner anymore, we removed the heartbeat simulator and continued to use it for months! We carried it with us everywhere. I actually let him sleep on this even when his feet didn't fit anymore haha I just folded up a couple receiving blankets and propped his feet up on those! Oh - and I had absolutely NO problem with him sliding down, unless these people are putting their babies in silk nighties every night I don't see how they had a problem with sliding. Its not inclined THAT much lol Overall - great product, will definitely use again!
