I have been using this chair for over a year and absolutely love it. My daughter is now 18 months and we pull it right up to the table. She loves having her own chair. It looks great and I feel we will use it for many years. The tray can tip forward, but not enough for me to care.

This is the best high chair in the market. I was surprised to see any negative comments at all. We used 3 high chairs at various locations, and this one is by far the best. We had a Graco Harmony at the grandparents and it was huge and unwieldy and not easy to use; everyone hated it from the grandparents, to guests with infants, to our kid. We had the popular Fisher-Price high chair and it was just ok; my child did not like not being able to see around him since most plastic high chairs have a very tall back. We weren't sure we were going to keep the Svan since it was very pricey, but as soon as we assembled and put our baby in it, he instantly loved it. After he used the Svan, he was then willing to sit in the other high chairs.
There are so many great things about the Svan:
1) It has the smallest footprint. I was concerned initially about the stability since every other high chair seems to require a ton of space for stability. But it is extremely stable. I would not trust my toddler climbing onto one of the plastic ones, but he climbs into his Svan easily and without incidents.
2) Price: It is expensive, no doubt, but you are paying for the awesome design, the sustainable wood, and because it is a piece of furniture and not a piece of short-lived plastic baby gear. We've used ours since our baby sat by himself at 6 months to now, 3 years later. My child was initially in the 95-percentile, so he was not a little one, and he fit just fine. He is now a very tall kid for his age, and the chair continues to fit just fine since it is fully adjustable.
3) Assembly and adjustments: Super easy to assemble and to adjust as your baby grows. It is ergonomic; seat and footrest are adjustable so that your baby is always properly supported. Our child was always tall for his age, and we never had any problems with the tray being slanted as noted in some of the other comments. At some point when your child is tall enough,

I am not happy with the highchair. It looks great but the tray is so bad! It comes loose allll the time. My baby is now a year and he moves alot i feel like he can tip it over. I am now haiving to search for a better high chair that will be more safe. I am bummed because it looks beutiful in my apartment :(

I love the look of this chair and the somewhat ease of use, however, the tray keeps sloping downward and I find myself constantly pulling out the tools needed to adjust the chair to fix it. It's silly considering there is never any pressure on the chairs tray...hmm..A bit dissapointing considering I purchased the chair and cushion when it was still a [$] Overall though, I much prefer to see the Svan each day as opposed to a cheap all plastic and bulky one.

We bought this high chair for my son when he was about eight months old. He had been using another seat for his meals, but I wanted a "real" high chair. This one has exceeded our expectations. I love the fact that it is wood and that it matches our kitchen and dining furniture. We also bought the chair cushion in chocolate. I would recommend this for a baby's comfort. The chair is smaller than many other high chairs, but this is another detail that I appreciate. It's not bulky at all and it's just the size he needs. It will also come in handy as he grows.

I searched and searched for the perfect high chair and finally decided on the Svan for 2 reasons: 1) it can be used for years to come and 2) it seemed easy to transfer from room to room. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! Easy to transfer from kitchen table to dining room table, blends in perfectly with our furniture, and most of all our baby loves sitting in it! The only cons are that the mahogany stain has too much red (in my opinion) and the high chair did take some time to put together. Other than those two things - I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase!

First off, let me say that we are due in December, so we have not used our new high chair yet. My husband and I have a wonderful great dane. She's very gentle and loves to play, but we were worried that she might go into one of her, "I'm so tiny... I'm sure I could fit under there!" phases, and try to squeeze under a high chair, occupied or not (on all fours, her back is about 36 inches, and she weighs well over 100lbs... not an "under a high chair" size dog...) We have been concerned that we would not be able to find a sturdy high chair that would be "Kazoo Proof," with out looking like an eye sore. The more "sturdy" ones we've found are big, bulky, plastic, restaurant style chairs. My sisters surprised us with this one, in the darkest (almost black) finish, with the red cushion. Matches our style and home PERFECTLY! And with the "U" shaped base, Kazoo would more likely scoot it around, than knock it over! We are SOO impressed with the quality of this high chair, and at this point, see no down falls with it. We can't wait to use it with our baby girl and are thrilled that Kazoo will not have to be "banned" our family rooms!!

I ordered the svan chair because I wanted something sleeker looking and more eco-friendly than most of the bulky plastic chairs out there. I am disappointed that the chair is so small - I cannot envision it will be good much past 1 year of age. I also do not think it will be simple to transform the chair (or even be functional) as the manufacturer claims for different child stages. Overall, svan is a nice looking high chair for an infant, but it comes at a hefty price tag for limited functionality.
Compact, attractive.

Great space saving design (compared to the Peg Perego Prima Papa). This highchair will also grow with your child and converts to a stool once he/she is done with it. Looks lovely and easy to clean. The plastic cover goes straight into the dishwasher for quick and easy cleaning. The only con I can think of is that it doesn't recline for a young infant.

I love the way this high chair blends with my other furniture and isn't garish like most. I like the fact that it can later be used as a toddler chair at the table. The only drawback is that it is a little difficult to get my son in & out of the seat. You have to slide the childs legs through the openings in the front, which is hard if he's wiggly!

I love that this high chair isn't plastic and will adjust as my child grows. I have however been really dissapointed by the construction of the tray. I don't find it easy to get on or off and the whole set up seems a bit poorly constructed.

Great high chair. I live in an apt so every inch count. This high chair is petite and matches with my dinner table. Joaquin seems comfortable but I am not feeding him any solids yet. I just sat him for a little while to see if he'd enjoy it. The quality of the wood is pretty good, and the chair is steady --- a must for us!
