Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
The allure of the removable headrest for easier rear-facing fit ended up being a bit of a disappointment. The fine print once you start installing it is that you cannot use it with the headrest removed if your child is over 22 lbs or if his/her head reaches a line on the seat. My son was too tall and it doesn't fit in my car (a GMC Acadia) with the headrest on, so I had to return it.

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
I have had this car seat for my son for a about a year and a half and absolutely love it. It is easy to install, easy to adjust, easy to clean, and seems very comfortable for out son to ride in. Every other car seat you have to rethread the straps every time you need to reposition as your child grows or if you need to wash the seat cover...I love that there is no rethreading...the main reason I bought this seat. I also love that it keeps my child in the 5 point restraint longer than most other car seats for his safety. I am planning on getting another for our daughter after she outgrows the carrier seat that we already had.

i would buy this product again

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
the car seat is wonderful the only thing i don't like is its kinda hard to adjust rear facing and its kind hard to level had to put a towel under it and when my son falls asleep his head kinda hangs but the car seat is very easy to install and he fits very well in it considering he is a 25 pound 8 month old baby who is in the 100% tile i love the car seat and it seems very safe

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
I just got the car seat a couple of weeks ago for my 7 month old, and it is great so far. I did have to take the padding off, so she would be more comfortable. I had it installed professionally, so I'm not sure how difficult it is, but I have a small car (nissan sentra) and it fits perfectly in the center. The only complaint I have is the location of the release button to loosen the straps. It is so low, once installed I can't get to it. I like to loosen before I get my baby out, so I don't love that, but it might not be a big deal to others. Overall, great car seat, and beautiful!

We have this car seat as our secondary car seat in my husband's car and it works great. My husband's car does not have the latch holes so it is just in there with the seat belt. I tried to shake the car seat and it is VERY secure. My son is comfortable in it and has plenty of room to grow (he is 9 months and 31 inches and 22 pounds).

Overall very happy

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
I bought this seat for my above-average sized daughter when she was around 7 months old. She was getting too big for her carrier. I really liked the size of the seat, the fact that the headrest can be removed while it faces backwards to fit better in your car, and it is very solid & comfortable (safe & happy child=big ++). It also has pretty nice straps compared to the cheaper second seat I bought for Grandma's car. Almost instantly, car trips became more peaceful for everyone. It is also very easy to install once you have done it a time or two, and very easy to clean. At over 19 months, my daughter is still quite comfortable in it. To be honest, I can even fit in it. It really lets her spread out & relax.

The only thing I don't like about it is the buckle is oddly shaped and seems to poke into her thighs. However, with all the room she just has to spread her legs a little more and she is fine. Never a complaint from her, it just looks a little awkward to me.

I would definitely recommend it and purchase it again. It is comparbale to the Britax marathon, but much less expensive and actually more spacious, so longer lasting (if you have a large little one like me). I did a lot of research before deciding on this seat and am overall very happy.

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
I actually bought this car seat three months ago, but am now returning to write a review because I was involved in a horrific rollover accident yesterday. My vehicle rolled two times, landing upside down, with my eight month old baby in the back strapped in this seat. While my husband and I sustained minor injuries in the front seat, this car seat did what it was supposed to do and my son came out of the car in perfect condition without a scratch on him.

Initially, I liked the seat because it looks really nice, appeared to be very comfortable for my son, and I wanted something that would grow with him. We had the latch system in our vehicle (a Ford Escape), so it was super-easy to install. The straps are a little difficult to adjust in the rear-facing position, but you get used to it and really don't adjust them all that often anyhow. It seemed a little bulky rear-facing, but once we moved it to the center position (between our seats) it fit perfectly. So, if you only need one car seat in your vehicle, I'd recommend installing it in the center of your back seat. In fact, I now have this seat installed in the center of the back seat of my rental (I ordered two, I'm not using the one from the crash), which is a small car, and it fits fine.

Cosmetically, it's nice, but for pure safety reasons, I highly recommend this car seat.

Well, I didnt give this 5 stars since I havent had a chance to install it yet. But I was very worried about buying something online that I could not actually see and touch, but I have to say that im very happy with my purchase! This is the first expensive seat that I have bought even with having 3 children. It has great padding even with the extra padding taken out and I am amazed about the foam protection that surrounds it(you look at one of those 70 dollar seats and it does not have the foam, just plastic) I love that it is wide enough for my son to grow into and also tall enough, I love the adjustment feature in which you dont have to rethread the straps and it also has shoulder pads(so you dont have to buy some). It works for me since I have a van with the captain seats, I dont have to worry about it taking up the backseat. Its also very stylish in my opinion. I sat my son in it when I got it and he loved it, he didnt fuss or anything and he actually sat and played for a while. Overall great seat! oh, I have to mention that I purchased this seat in the charcoal color. The only downside? that would be that you have to fold the pad back in order to install and use the built in seat belt lock. But I also love that the cover has snaps and not the elastic straps that hook it to the seat(I have always has issues with those ripping)

Fantastic Replacement for Broken Britax

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
I love this seat and bought it as a replacement for my Britax Boulevard that no longer buckles at the lap. It takes a little more strength to get it tightly into the car but I think that it's because the Britax has to separate latches and this seat has one belt that goes all the way across so you have to tighten it across and not pull on them separately. My son loves this seat. I can't say enough about it.

Better than the Britax

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
I researched every baby product I purchased to a fault! I read every review and considered the pros and cons of each item. This car seat is by far the best purchase I made!!

We have been using the car seat for 18 months now and dont have a single complaint!! It is extremely comfortable for our now 34 pound 2 year old, has all the features of the expensive seats at a much lower price. It is easy to clean, and still looks new (and our son eats in the car far more often than he should!!)

I did read in a few reviews that the harness adjustment is difficult to use when the seat is rear facing. Although this is true, it is not worth a second thought when you compare it to the flaws of the other seats. If you are planning to use this seat for more than the "infant" period, it is by far the BEST seat on the market for the money!!!!

We have bought a second one for our 3 month old to use as soon as we are done with the infant carrier!!

Hands down BEST CAR SEAT for your money!

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
We research and tested alot of car seats to fit our car (a subaru) since we needed to get three across in the back seat. The True Fit was the highest rated for safety, ease and comfort. It was so easy to install, extremely study and well padded for comfort. I love how the additional headrest is added as as the child grows. The locking clips for rear facing keep the seat belt from moving and extremely secure. Over more expensive name brands, this car seat has more features, safety products, easily adjustable in rear facing position and our 11 month old son loves it so much! We will definately buy a True Fit for our other car. The only complaint is not with the car seat, but with our car!

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
Great seat. Very padded and comfy for kids. A little big though. When it was rear facing there wasn't much room between the headrest and my front seat. Now that its ff it just takes up about half of my backseat. Along with my other childs seat there is no room. But that is ok, we only have two kids. :) Anyway.. very comfy, easy to clean. I like the no rethreading. that is a plus. ( i have it in gray not misty though)

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
This is really easy to assemble, install and use. I also enjoyed how easy it is to adjust the straps up or down, and that you don't have to take it apart to do it. It fits great with other seats, and my son really enjoys it. The only thing that I have found I don't like is it's hard to adjust the tightness of the straps rearfacing. But that is the only thing. The instructions were easy to read and follow.

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
We searched online and visited the stores to check out car seats, it seemed like a long process, but this one always seemed right, but we looked at other ones, I really like how sturdy it feels when you secure it into the car...its seems like it wouldn't go anywhere. It was tricky to install at first, but I think that was more due to being the first time, but now i feel like an installation expert :). we ended up buying two, just becuase its easier not to change it back and forth between cars, due to the different saftey mesures I think there are more steps to install, which we wanted anyway...so we can't complain at all....I would have given it 5 stars, but we have only used it for one month, but everything about it is good so far, our daughter sits comfortably, she can play or sleep...she loves going for car rides and seems to enjoy it. It fits well in our economy car and mini van....

Definitely recommend this!!

I would definitely recommend this carseat!! I researched multiple seats and this one had the highest limit for how many lbs. it goes up to, and it stays reversed the longest. It also has a very high safety rating. It fits in our SUV easily, and my son seems very comfortable in it. We had first bought a Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite but it was horrible. It did not fit in reverse at all! This seat has nice colors too, if you have a question about the color, the colors on their website (learningcurve.com) are true to the color. I think if you decide on this seat you will be very happy... we are!

Love this car seat so much we purchased 2, one for each vehicle. Great color, my son who is large for his age outgrew his baby car seat by 9 months. This one will grow with him for years to come. Easy to get him in and out of it. Even took it on airplane trip to Chicago. Highly recommend it.

my wife and i did a lot of research before getting this convertible when we needed to upgrade from the infant car seat.
this was by far the highest rated NHTSA safety record at the time. (now the new version of this model is better)
we absolutely love it, it was easy to install even though they say its hard and fits really nice in our car.
though we find that it does not always as tight on the seat belt, it really is and my daughter is very secure.
we are now looking into getting a new car seat after we were in an accident, the car seat did its job without any issues. the car seat shows no signs that it was in an accident and the hospital dropped it a few times when they were holding it for us. Not even a scratch!
we love this car seat. now we have to get a new car seat as per police, hospital and insurance.
we are going to go with the TRUE-FIT HANDS DOWN!
well maybe we might go with the Premiere.

This car seat is functional and easy to use. It's not as bulky as other car seats. We found it easy to install and use. Our nine month old loves it too. The only thing is our son's head comes forward when he falls asleep. So we have to try to prop his head up. Even though it's only available online I totally reccomend it to those moms who may not drive a larger vehicle.

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
Ok, this car seat may have a lot of padding and easy to adjust shoulder straps but it is impossible to install!! I am so frustrated with this seat. First off, who designs a car seat that you have to remove the seat cover to install it into the car and then try to snap it back on after the seat is all fastened down in the vehicle. This lack of thought in the design is even worse when installing forward facing since you have to remove the upper seatback too. Trust me this is nearly impossible. I read in one of the other reviews that it took this woman's poor husband a half an hour to install this thing. Who has that kind of time!? Second, it takes up so much room that my other two older kids barely have any room in the back seat of our SUV. Third, the seatbelts in my SUV did not line up correctly with the special seatbelt locks so I couldn't use them. This seat must have been designed by someone who has no children and has never had to actually install it themselves!!

We purchased this car seat for our very chubby 5 month old (26" long and 18 lbs) and he fits nicely in this seat, even with the extra padding in. I love the removable headrest and the fact that you can adjust the shoulder straps up and down without having to pull them out and re-thread them! I do not have any complaints at all about this seat. My son and I both love it! He is very happy in it. It only took my husband about 30 minutes to install, and we are currently using it in the rear-facing position with the latch system.

Very Nice, but it takes up a lot of room

I have two of these and love them. We needed to use a towel to give it the proper tilt for rear-facing, so it was a bit of a pain to install, however that seems to be the case with all convertible seats. The biggest drawback is the when its rear-facing and the headrest is installed, it takes up a lot of room. Luckily we dont have small cars, but if we did, I cant imagine how this seat would fit. We havent used it forward facing yet, so I have no info on that.

Oh I so wished, I had known, that they have the "'True fit' 'Misty morning'" at Baby r us.
That's the one i originally wanted to buy. But after doing all my research, the other store didn't have it any more. So i got it in gray.
I really love this carseat and so does my son. He looks very comfortable in it. In safety ratings, it is better then any of the Britax. I love, that you can have your child rear facing until 35 lbs. My son is now 18 month old and still rear facing. It took a little to install it the first time (the second time was easier), but ones you got it installt it's not moving anywhere. I found a car seat leveler online, so i didn't have to roll up a towel. I also like, that you can move the straps up and down without having to retread it. I have skinny hands, so i don't really have the problem with tightening the harness when in rear facing position and with the Kansas weather i've tightend and loosend it a lot already. It would be nice, if you had something that holds the straps to the side, when you want to put your child in it, cause usually i have to reach under his body to find them and sometimes they get twisted. I'm now using it for a half year and i'm just as pleased with it as on the first day. I would definetly buy it again, cause it's one of the safest car seats out there and that for a good price.

I have read all of the reviews on this item and at first I wasn't going to purchase it. But I am glad I did. My son loves this cars seat more than he did his infant seat. And as for not being easy to install I am not sure what others are talking about. I have installed this in alot of different cars 08 Pathfinder, 09 Maxima, 04 Armada, 04 300M, 01 Dodge p/u and I haven't had any problems. I have used it with the latch system and without. I don't think that it is any hard using the seatbelt vs. the latch system.

Comments about The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat Misty Morning:
After lots of research we decided upon this car seat for the quality, customer response, rating and price. It was the best decision we made. The width gives my son lots of extra room for comfort and growth and the added padding provides great custom support. I love the material it's cool, easy to clean and stylish. Installation wasn't as hard as I expected, but it did take a lot of strength and the two of us to secure. I wouldn't want to travel with this seat. We did have to adjust the seat twice. After tightly securing the seat my son seemed to sit straight up which caused his head to fall forward when he slept. It's better now but took some creativity.
