Carseat is great for caravans since it only takes up 1 seat. It is heavy but folds easy and has a strap which helps if you need to carry it. I'd say the only setback is the foam insert you have to buy. The foam helps elevate the seat so that you don't crowd the seat in front. Seat is narrow and long. Anyhow they should just add the foam insert and not charge extra. Other than that so far so good.Plus I have tall kids so a seat like this is worth the investment since they will not grow out of it.

we love this seat I've had it since my 5 year old was two and a half and he's been in since then. He was rear facing all the way until four and a half and now is forward facing in it. He finds it very comfortable and was reluctant to let his little brother ride in it when we took a family trip and he used a different seat. He will outgrow the seat by height in a year or two and then he'll have to give it away to his little brother but he's not currently looking forward to it. I love the low sides so that its easier to get your child in and out of the seat, especially when rear facing. I also like that it doesn't have head wings that can get in the way with a taller child.

We absolutely love our Diono's! The R120 was our most recent Diono that we purchases (I have 4 kids currently and they are all in Diono seats!) Diono makes it possible for me to keep all my kids in their car seats for as long as possible not just because of their great weight ranges (even my almost 9 year old is still using his seat as a 5 point harness!) but since they are so slim, I'm actually able to keep all 4 car seats in my car.
Great sest once you know the ins and outs

Overall I am happy with this seat, my 3 year old has been in it since 9 months and is still rf. Features I love: Rear-face to 45 lbs--this will get most kids to 3-4 years old easily Low profile--easy to get him in and out in my small vehicle Comfortable padding-- for long rides He is always comfortable Ability to rf tether Narrow so it allows 2 other seats or passengers in the back seat Features that could be improved: Angle rf--I do have the angle adjuster, and it is a must if you have seAt installed behind the passenger seat. Even with the aa, there is limited room for the passenger up front. I wish this seat would come with the angle adjuster built in, a la some of the other convertibles on the market. harness strap adjustment-- this harness has a ratchet system, so it takes some time to get the straps snug. I try not to loosen them, but my husband tends to loosen them when he takes my son out, so I find it to be a pain to constantly adjust them. No lock-offs--I'm still using latch but when I have to switch to seatbelt I am worried that it will take a while to get a good install without belt lock-offs. Most other seats in the market at this high level come with lock-offs. I would not trust others (grandma, etc) to properly install the seat without lock-offs, so we use a different brand convertible rf in grandma's car since it gets taken out a lot and she has a hard time using the latch system. Seat fabric--we have the red r120, and the fabric is easilly frayed With Velcro from sneakers. The fabric on the newer seats looks more durable. I would buy this seat again because I am confident in my ability to install properly and tighten the harness, and it will keep my lo safely rf for a while longer.

we love this seat. It's heavy but it stays in my car so it's ok. My daughter is almost 2 and still happily rear facing. She loves the low sides bc, well honestly, she's nosey lol it's a super easy install. I wish i had gotten this seat in the beginning, would have saved a lot of headache.
Good buy, fits multiple kids.

So, we needed an R120 for 3 across. For the money, it's a good deal, as the seat is both narrow enough for 3 across, rear faces for a long time, has the newborn insert, and has safety out the wazoo. I have had a wide variety of kids ride safely in this seat. It's great for carpool, because no matter what kid is coming, they usually fit. It's easy to install rear or forward facing. Never had a problem with the harness or switching it out for the next slot. Kids have always said it's comfy. The ugly: Imagine trying to haul two of these solo through the airport with 3 kids in tow. My car seat cover is fraying out, which I did not expect, as having owned 13 seats in 10 years, we've never had an issue with a seat cover fraying out. Heavy. Yup, but it braces! The top belting slot is a bit off, and makes it difficult to use as a belting booster.
3 across and comfortable!

We bought this after reading a review on Carseats For the Littles about 3 across in a Honda CR-V. With a third baby due soon, we needed just that in our CR-V. Our FF 4 year old is now in a Diono R120 as is our RF 2 year old. The kids love them and are comfortable. My husband was able to install them really well, as was confirmed when we had a CPST check the install. We love the safety reputation of Dionos and fit for our vehicle. So far the only struggle is that the harness just doesn't snug as securely as our previous carseats, though it passes the "pinch" test at the collar bone and the CPST checked both our kids buckled in and assured us they are tight enough... it isn't easy to get them secure like I like. For our 2 year old, the longer pads for the harness straps are just too big and we wish the shorter ones were included with the purchase as now we have to figure out how to get them for her. Other than these two things, we are pleased with our purchase.
love this car seat

I have bought this car seat a month ago for my 8 month old. I loved it so much that I replace my 4 & 2 year olds car seats with this product as well. They are all happy now that they can all sit next to eachother in are van. As well as they are very sturdy seat which my children are extremely comfortable in. I dont find my four year olds head hanging all the way over anymore as in her other seat. Over all I would recommend this product to anyone. So happy with my purchase!
Great, sturdy, safe seat!

I bought this seat a month ago and I'm very happy with my purchase. I bought it for my 16 month old who needed to transition from her infant carrier to a convertible seat. I use it rear facing in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and it fits great with and without the angle adjuster. I only have two children, but I love the option of being able to fit three car seats across my bench backseat. An adult can also sit comfortably between my two car seats. My only wish is that I had purchased the RXT. My 16 month daughter is super petite and when she falls asleep, her head falls awkwardly to the side. Although she doesn't seem to mind, it does look uncomfortable. We've taken one road trip since purchasing the seat and she slept great, so I guess my concern is not one for her! I also didn't realize that it's slender size means there is no side barriers on the seat. The Diono R120 makes my son's Britax Boulevard look like a Lazy Boy. When I put three car seats across my seat, my daughter (rear facing) can easily kick the unfortunate rider next to her. Once we turn her seat, I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and recommend it highly.
Perfect for us

We received our first Diono as an option from taking a car seat class. It came highly recommended. We opted for the Diono after seeing how expensive it was. After installing it and owning it for over a year, we see the value. Not only is this a one time buy for your child, the seat can take a beating from normal wear and tear. This car seat is truly an investment. We recommend to all of our friends to look at this car seat because it can last from birth until the child is old enough to sit safety without a car seat. We liked it so much. We purchased another one for our 2nd child when he was born. Now both of them sit comfortably and secure in the back with a 3rd passenger. This is only possible because of the slim profile of the car seats. One con is that this seat is really heavy. I wouldn't recommend passing it from car to car. This is a car seat and not a carrier so keep that in mind if you plan to use it for a newborn.
Nice Seat, but far from perfect!

My wife and I bought 2 Diono car seats, a Radian RXT and a Radian R120. While I agree with most folks about the quality and such of these Dionos, I find it very, very difficult, if not impossible, to install the seat properly. As we all know, the seat must be secured to the vehicles seat suck that there is less then 1" of movement in any direction. The design of the Diono prevents this. In the forward facing position in harness mode, the location of the belt path is so far rearward (due to the very slim nature of the car seat) that the angle of the belt is almost vertical. Without any horizontal component of the belt angle, there is no rearward force when the belt is tight. Hence, the seat can be pulled forward quite easily. And, the same things happens using the Latch system. Now, I except folks to tell me that if the belt is tight enough, the seat is secure. But all that is happening is the car seat is being sucked into the bottom cushion of the vehicles seat. In a collision, the car seat will flip out of the indent in the seat cushion. Now, if the car seat is reclined and some kind of "spacer" is used between it and the vehicles seat back, some amount of belt angle can be achieved and some amount of security realized. But really, that's what I have to so with the most expensive, supposedly best car seat on the market? And the worst part about doing that is the the whole reason to get ripped off paying such a premium for a car seat is to get an ultra compact seat that will fit in smaller spaces and blah blah. Once the bottom is kicked out forward, a whole bunch of room is lost and the kids legs are jammed up to the seat in front, just like the so-called "big and bulky" car seats. I know, I've had seats from brand X and while they may be more bulky, I never had this issue (in the same vehicle, by the way). To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Frustrated and ticked off would be more accurate. Because, I don't have enough to do in my life then spend umpteen hours fooling around trying to get a car seat safely installed. Ridiculous. Good luck to you all!
Solid, good features, fits three across
10/18/2014 by net23 from Tampa, FL, United States
This is our fifth Radian seat, two in our other car and now three in our Volvo. They fit three across, including if the middle is rear facing. Som3 say they are too heavy but I disagree. The solid steel frame is heavy but I'll trade up in safety for down in portability any day. You buy a good carseat for the one-in-a-million chance it'll save your child'S life, not to make life easy on yourself. They come with cupholders, nice latch connectors, rear facing angle adaptors and more. So many other car seats feel like molded plastic junk, but not these. I highly recommend them to all my Internet strangers.
Very comfy seat!

We bought this car seat for our one year old who just outgrew her "infant carseat". We ended up going on a four day long roadtrip (8 hrs a day of driving each day) and I can honestly say that without this seat, the trip wouldn't have been so enjoyable. We own a small 4 door car and have the seat rear facing (it is a tight fit). My daughter loves this seat and I love how safe she is while riding in it. I only wish that the bottom corners of the seat were covered so food couldn't get down in the little holes.....
My Baby Girl love her Diono

This so far its the best Seat ever, my baby felt so comfortable when she sat on it that she just went right to sleep on it. it feels very strong and was easy to install, its a little heavy but that's ok if it keeps my baby safe.

I have owned other car seats, but nothing compares to the Diono R120! It's slender, easy to install, and my son loves it. My first R120 was involved in a car crash, so I had to replace it. I would not settle for any other seat, so I replaced it with a new R120. My son couldn't be happier! He hated the backup seat I used for a but. He's rear facing at almost 3 years old, and still fits nicely.

I love this car seat so much that we have two! It is truly the safest seat out there and, as a mom, there is nothing more important. Very well made and soooooooooo cool looking! It is so much easier to use than any other seats I have tried. I really dont know why I wasted my time with any other brand. Diono is really the way to go. No buyers remorse here! My toddler is in love with his seat!
Comfy But Needed the Angle Adjuster
4/21/2014 by boon from Mountain View, CA, United States
I was using another car seat and my 19 month old son never seemed very happy on car rides. So I decided to try the memory foam & more open design of the Diono. So far, my son seems happy with the new carseat, though we still need to try a longer road trip. I debated about the Radian RX but decided that my toddler would appreciate the openness of the Radian R120 over the 'winged' Radian RX. My friend noted that her kids love to use the Radian RX 'wings' to sleep. My son was napping in his Radian R120 fine today. It helps that he is still rear-racing which adds some tilt to the chair that makes it easier to snooze. As for material, I chose this new "microfleece" material because it was noted to have fewer fire retardant treatment/chemicals. Though the company I bought the chair from mixed up my order and sent me the Radian with the "rip stop" material, which my son and myself are fine with. After installing the Radian 120 in a rear-facing position in my Ford Escape, I had to move the front seat all the way forward and all the way up-right to accommodate the car seat. I purchased the angle adjuster foam cushion and was able to move the front seat back about 2 inches. It helps. Overall, I'm very happy with the Diono Radian R120 and am happy with my selection of model & the "rip-stop" type material that I ended up with.
Just what we needed

We bought this car seat for the arrival of our third child so we could keep our Honda Fit. It fit well between another forward facing Diono R 120 and a rear facing Britax marathon. We have used it for over a year now and had switched to 3 Diono. Currently we have two facing forward and one back in the middle, all still in our Honda fit. Unfortunately we may not be able to fit all 3 forward facing because the backs are wider than the seats. My husband had a tough time with the latch clips at first because they seem to snap onto the latch points as easily as our Britax. Now he can install the seats fairly quickly and very tightly. The seats seem comfy for the kids. I wish there was a way to keep the straps out of the way like the britax seats which have velcro.
4/7/2014 by Sunshine from Edmonton, AB, Canada
We bought a couple of these. less than 6 months later we rolled our van, and both our kids were scared but completely fine. They were replaced by Diono (though the replacements got lost for several months). We were supposed to get coloured ones on the replacements, but go black ones instead. On the replacements, however, the velcro that attaches the chest buckle has been torn off by our kids within a couple months, so we need to get those replaced. Also, it fits our children (tall) for longer, and can fit 3 across the back seat of our small toyota echo.
Very safe & fits well three across

I bought this a month ago & am glad I did, this seat is very sturdy & will last a long time. I bought this as I have 3 kids under 5. My 4.5 year old sits in the diono r100 5 point harness booster, the 1 month old baby is in the middle in a chicco key fit 30 infant seat with base, and my 19 month old is in this diono r120 rear facing. All 3 seats fit across the rear seats of my subaru outback. I highly recommend the diono r120.
Best and safest car seat
4/2/2014 by MontrealKid from Montreal
Got this model as a replacement for my other car seat which was shredding its tightening strap. This seat feels very solid and I trust it more than any other seat I have seen or used. The kids are very comfortable. The straps are large and do not dig into the child’s shoulders. The wings are useless, my kids fall asleep all the time and their heads stay put. The straps are also very easy to tighten and loosen. I bought a second one for my second child. No regrets. I no longer trust any other car seats for the safety of my children.
I love it!!!

Fits Our Needs
3/27/2014 by RorasMommy from NS, Canada
This seat was just what we were looking for. My daughter should be able to rear face comfortably until she turns 4. She is so much safer that way. The low sides give her the option to rest her legs over the edges. It has lots of leg room for rear facing compared to some other brand options. Easy to get a tight install. Easy to adjust strap height. Ratcheting harness adjuster is a bit of a pain but definitely workable. Straps are comfortable with or without the strap covers. Cup holder does not stay in place well. It would be improved if it had more of a "click" when pushed in. Seat is very heavy. I would not want to move this seat frequently. If you only move your seat on occasion it isn't bad. The closed belt path would be tricky to put the belt through if you had larger hands but I have heard of people tipping the seat to the side and dropping the belt through. I wish I had known more when I originally bought my daughter her convertible car seat that she outgrew rear facing by height before 2 years. I could have saved myself some money buy buying this one first. Many seats on the market advertise high weight limits but neglect to tell you upfront how short their height limits are. The Radian has generous weight and height limits.

We bought this carseat for our 10 month old. My husband and I are both quite tall and managed to fit the seat rear-facing in the middle backseat of my Elantra without the angle adjuster, it's a tight fit, but as soon as we can use the angle adjuster it will give us quite a lot more room! We can easily fit other carseats and boosters on either side of the seat for any visiting and future children. The ease of the latch system also gets a thumbs up! The only thing that is difficult is that it is quite heavy making it hard to move from one car to the next.

I have been using this seat for my 4 year old since September and I absolutely love it! It is made so well and I feel that she is very safe and secure when she is in it! It is easy to install and easy to put the belts on. She enjoys having a cup holder as well. I am ready to purchase another for our 10 month old. Thanks DIONO for building something super safe for the most important cargo in our lives!
Great for my super-tall baby
3/22/2014 by cw722 from Milton, FL
I bought this when my son outgrew his bucket seat, but in retrospect, I wish I had just bought this to begin with. My son has been in the 99th height percentile since birth basically, so he outgrew his bucket seat in record time and I wanted to replace it with a seat he could continue to use rear-facing and then later as a booster. This seat as been perfect. Some people complain about the strap-tightening mechanism, but honestly, I prefer it BECAUSE it ratchets and so it is prevented from getting too tight too quickly. The only 'bad' thing I have to say about this seat is that the cup holder is kind of dumb and doesn't really "snap" in or anything, it just kind of hangs there awkwardly. We don't use it.
Great for tight fits!
3/15/2014 by K5mama from Lincoln, Ne
Bought this seat because we needed to fit three kids across the bench, and this was the narrowest seat available. This seat is awesome! Not only did it fit exactly as needed, it's a great seat! The side is low enough that my toddler can get himself into it, which is a bonus! The straps are very easy to adjust over bulky clothing, and easy to move up as the child grows. It folds up, making it nice for taking on the plane, and you can get backpack straps for it too! That said, this thing is HEAVY, so there's no way a mama carrying a wiggly child could carry this too!

We bought one a year ago for our older son and we love everything about this car seat . The kids love them and never complain about getting in their car seats. The slim profile works great in our crossover vehicle. We feel like our kids are comfortable and secure.
Comfortable and convenient

Our daughter barely fit in her infant seat by 9 months old, and often fussed about being buckled in. She was clearly happier and more comfortable as soon as we switched to the Radian (rear-facing). It's very easy to get her in and out of, and though taller than the infant seat was, with the addition of the angle adjuster this actually takes up less space in our Hyundai Elantra, making it possible to use the front passenger seat again.

Easy to take in and out. Sturdy. Good looking. Roomy.
3/12/2014 by csproul from PA, United States
We purchased the Diono about 4 months ago and love it. My son is only 2.5 and about 30 lbs and fits nicely in it forward facing. It is super slim and SUPER sturdy. After installing, if you try to jiggle it, it goes nowhere! It's awesome like that. I can't say how easy or difficult installation is as our car makes it difficult for any seat. The only negative I have is that the pieces that snap into the buckle fall down so when you put the child in the seat, you have to dig next to them to find the buckle piece. This is common with many carseats though -- we were just lucky enough not to have to deal with that on our last one.
Perfect seat for so many reasons

I have had the Radian for both of my children and am extremely happy with how they have fit in so many different cars. Plus, the kiddos are comfortable while they are safe!
