About Roadmaster

Roadmaster specializes in high quality bicycles for adults and children. The history of the company can be traced in 1935 when Cleveland Welding Company established the brand. Ownership is however cut short after World War II. In 1950, AMF bought the brand from Cleveland Welding Company. After moving to Arkansas, AMF constructed a new factory and continued production in Illinois. During that time, Roadmaster offered the iconic two-wheeled bicycles. They also produced pedal cars, tricycles, bikes and wagons. By the 1907’s, the brand included popular riding toys such as mopeds and BMX to their product line. One of the most significant moments of the business is when one of their track bicycles was featured in the film called Breaking Away. Despite the two decades of success, the brand’s assets were sold to a group of employees, which later on sod to an investment group. Due to the change of management and ownership, it became the Roadmaster Industries, Inc. Although there were breakthroughs during the transition, Roadmaster has yet again faced a challenge. Brunswick Corporation purchased the brand in 1996. Four years later, Pacific Cycle Inc. bought the Roadmaster. Today, the brand is still under Pacific Cycle Inc.
